stock evo?

do you think it's even worth owning an evo if you're just going to keep it stock? do you think that it's just a waste of the potential and that person should just get another car instead of an evo?

Well, not if you want the handling, awd, and the warranty.

Not at all, an evo is an amazing car to own and enjoy, stock or not. Good luck fighting the urge NOT to mod it though.

If you are getting the Evo for it's awesome handling. Then I think you will be pleased with the stock setup (plus rear sway maybe).

I think your much better off keeping it stock, and this is coming from someone who has a modified car.. I think if you get too involved in modding, you end up being unsatified with drivability, or something else that one might complain about..

Modding a car comes with compromises, and my experience is that most go too far and aren't willing to accept the compromises.. Thats why you likely see so many modified cars going up for sale.. This is also the reason I've chosen to make modifications that compliment what is already there, and can easily be reversed if necessary.

I agree. Much easier to learn the limits of a car in steps, starting from stock too. I'm sure most people who mod their cars don't really drive it to the fullest at the tracks.

Do I think it's worth it? Sure, but how "stock" do you want to keep it? Seriously, something like getting the stock ecu tuned could make a pretty big difference with no mechanical changes. It's probably a road to madness though because each "little" change makes you want the next one. Next thing you know, you're cruising evom looking for another part to buy...

hell no. I only reason I mod is because it's like getting a new car everytime I buy parts and add more power.

Great car stock, I'm planning some mods, but haven't done anything major yet (only AEM intake) and still love it. Fun car to drive stock, I still look forward to getting in it every day. The only downside is my jeep is kinda jealous these days...

that is a crazy question. i bought a fast car, that has awd and handles perfectly, so that i dont have to mod right away. i got screwed on that deal with me last car. so it will sit unmodded until i feel like the car has............... proven itself? that is why i bought it, it is still a great car even stock.

Remember... in stock form, this car runs circles around most sportscars on the planet! Unless you're looking to chase down a Viper on the highway (I am) nothing is wrong with the EVO in stock trim.

lol except when i only ran 16 psi of boost max when i was stock..no peak no taper just 16 psi.. had to get an MBC and a forge BOV to fix that..(no more warranty there..) and now i'm always worried i'm gonna break something and mitsu will void my warranty then or if they see it during services or anything..oh and the 40 psi in the tires cold from the dealer? lol not so great "stock" either other than the constant fear of something breaking and the constant urge to mod when you dont have the money to do so you're right..its a great car stock

Even though, I haven't modded mine yet, I'm only going for simple & bolt ons. Turbo Back, intake, MR BOV, AFC, and ECU flash. And maybe SS brake and clutch lines. This is my daily driver so I'll keep close to daily driveability as possible.
