trade in for srt4 or evo 8

I'm not here to prove the srt is better than the evo. Stock for stock its not. I'm simply stating that the srt can be just as competitive with a little money put into it.
And it quite obvious you haven't got a clue about the srt except what you make up. Just like the Evo and a lancer, the srt shares only the shell and a few pieces from the neon. Motor, tranny, suspension and brakes are exclusive to the srt.
But wait, you claimed to have sat in one so you know everything. Your probably bullshiating about that too. lol
Rallyredego...you've essentially become background noise. These other people at least substantiate their opinions with some sort of 1st hand experience or at least a hint of maturity. You sound like a total fanboi. It's a car, not a cult. Is the Evo your first car?
I tried to get my friend to buy a Mitsubishi Evolution VIII. I almost got him to pull the trigger, but he didn’t have the money. I did suggest an SRT-4 but he bought a WRX instead because it has AWD.
To each his own! My friend has no intention to foray into the aftermarket… he’d rather spend his cash on his damned fish tank. I’ll tell ya, even though I can mop him up with my car he still has fun out on the road. This is what counts.
To all those doing compares:
- There will always be a car that’s faster than yours.
- There will always be a car that’s faster than yours built with less money spent.
- How the car looks is subjective. Some people think the SRT-4 looks pretty aggressive. Today a SRT-4 is still a Neon, but an Evolution VIII is still a Lancer.
I don’t generally race on public streets, but when I need to put some distance between myself and anyone else or any situation I’ve never had a problem. I say get the car you enjoy driving and can afford.

If I didnt have my Lancer, I definately would have bought an SRT-4 when they came out. That being said Ive test driven a couple Evos and SRT-4s, and each time both myself and the people with me (be it a girlfriend, father, friends, etc) all commented that the SRT-4 was fun, but the interior was complete crap. Now this is in comparison to my regular lancer. There are odd plastic gaps all over the SRt-4, the switch-gear and handles (esp the hood pull) feel flimsy, and the overall fit and finish is NOWEHRE near that of the Lancer/Evo. The doors and trunk on the SRT-4 rattle when closed on the showroom floor. Now its fine to sit here and debate whos faster after which mods, but you cannot debate two things.
1. The Evo is faster stock than the SRT-4, and is a much better overall platform (albiet for more money)
2. The Neons interior is not even close to the quality of the Lancers.....(Even ask the guys over on SRT forums, which I also frequent as well)
Carry on with yer bickering guys, you never cease to entertain me.

The interior to me seemed way cheaper than my already cheap neon interior, and again the doors were way thinner and more hollow sounding, just my opinion, they are both really crappy cars interior wise, but they are also both built on bottom fo the line cars. But we dont buy these cars for the interior, we buy them for performance...

I dunno about stock vs. stock on the interstate, he can't drive both at the same time. I'd like to see though, I think it'd be close because of the power-2-weight.
What are the MPH limits on each gear in the SRT?

It's just that this is a rediculous argument to begin with. And this is the sort of thing that goes on on forums all the time. It's just like a buddy of mine has an '01 Camaro SS, and on the LS1TECH.com forum they were comparing the EVO and LS1 cars. Rediculous. Two TOTALLY different cars, built for different audiences, and purposes. But for some reason, people compare them.
I'm just having fun, at their expense.

If you want proof try to roll against my supercharged Rabbit. You will feel the lag in your car as you see the back on my car...

Word, you can't get away from it. Even though some cars don't seem to be affected by it as much as others, it's still there.
