Will you buy another Evo?
Will you buy another Evo?
With all the issues that people post about
:
Poor quality
Lack of dealer service
Warrenty issues
Mistery paint chips - Actually the door is not put on right.
etc
Will you buy another Evo?
With all the high per performance cars out there:
Subaru WRX
Subaru WRX STi
Subaru Legacy GT
Mazdaspeed 6
Volvo Something
Acura TL A-spec
Acura TSX A-spec
Other cars coming - (GT-R)
Will people replace their Evo with another Evo. The Evo is a great car. I have owned my car for nearly 2 years and it continues to impress me. I have almost sold it more time than I can count, but I still hang on to it.
But,
does suck.
I used to own an Acura (user ID), and tansition from Acura service to
was a little hard to deal with. Actually, hard enough that
does not service my car. All oil changes and service on my car has been done by me and other Evo drivers.
The Evo is not a cheap car, and the MR is coming up on 40K. That is a lot of money to pay for crappy service, and crappy fit and finish. I know a lot will say, that the focus is the performance and the greatness of the Evo. But that will not do me any good if the car falls apart, or I can not maintain it.
So the point, how many people will stay with
when the time comes to replace there cars, and how many are going to move on to another car because of terrible
service, support, quality, and knowledge of the Evo.
Not trying to create flame fest, just get peoples thoughts.

I wanted to make this a poll, but the poll option just shut down my web browser. Stupid computer. Maybe I should start a poll about letting people reprogram your computer.
I'm not technically buying another
but I do know of all the issues that people are having and I would still buy an EVO. I don't plan to mod the car and thus am not worried about warranty issues. Alot also depends on which dealer you go to and how well experienced their service department people are. However, I am already prepared to repaint it when the time comes ....

Well, let me be the first respondent.
Ummm, I'll probably NOT buy another EVO!
Maybe I'm getting soft but I'm finding out it's little hardcore for my daily ride especially for my significant other who had enough after 12 hours of shaking and rattling on east coast journey.
Or, I should go back to stock w/ airbox, exhaust and stock suspension for more "compliant" ride...LOL
Next time, maybe S2k or TL...damn, I'm getting old!

No, I wouldn't buy another, I figure the 8 is my last pure gasoline powered vehicle, my next one will be hybrid or preferably fuel cell based.
Unless the GTR just ends up being so good that I can't resist.

sorry, but dude... you put an A-spec tsx on the list to compare with the others? ..... 35k for an accord? sorry but those that bought the evos were probably very drawn to the awesome value of the car.
though it is a great little ride... very comfy!
i'd definitely continue getting evos later in life... love the little bastid... but i'd definitely get a comfy ride for daily driving duties... like a camry or something

same here, gonna keep the evo for ever, I have a 98 camry for daily comfort. my 03 evo have 3,200 miles on it. Shows how much i drive it. Would i buy another one? Hell yes, i have had great service for dealership and love the car. Great value. I hav a friend with a Z4 he drove my car and is now trying to get one. My other friend has a 350z he drove my ride and did trade in his car to get one. However i think soon the EVO will out price its self and the EVo lovers will just buy used evos and it will go the way of the supra and other great cars.

Let's just say it would be hard to drive anything less - performance wise - I'm too spoiled... I'd probably not buy another Evo, but I'll also never sell mine. I would just get something in addition.
Nope..except for my "00" eclipse GT which was too slow to keep me awake so I could drive, I keep cars for about 15years. I will be too dang old by then.. A better question might be "would you buy your Evo all over again?"... Yes, but I'd get the leather Recaros.
