turbo timer option w/viper 791 alarm
Kareem,
Really don't know how to help you with that one. I never did figure out how to get the turbo timer to stop preventing use of the alarm arming feature. I just lock the car when I walk away, then arm the alarm a minute or two later. It's a pain but I'm in the habit now so it doesn't really bother me. I got the lights to stop flashing by reprogramming. It's been a long time but I wasn't doing some specific step in the programming exactly right and so it wasn't changing the settings. I suggest trying to go thoroughly through everything again in the book and setting the settings for the timer function again. It might work. I know I thought I had done everything right and tried many times to get the lights setting to change without success....then I got it to change when I went back through the book, but I forget what it was I was missing. Now that I think about it, I never did get the doors to not unlock when I remote start the thing. Maybe if I go back and do everything again for that I can get that changed as well. Let us know how it goes. Really a pain programming these things. I can't believe they're selling thousands and thousands of car alarms and I could EASILY design a better algorithm for how the thing should work. They've got some really odd thinking programmers, I'll tell ya.

I used to have a clifford alarm on my eclipse. It had an auto arming feature. So you could get out, lock the doors with the TT running, and after the engine stopped the alarm would arm itself 30 seconds later. I don't know anything about the alarm or how it was hooked up, becuase it came with the car. I'm hoping to do the same thing on the Evo if I can find a similar alarm.

BUT, i don't know if it has auto arming feature... I'm sure it does since how its the highest alarm viper carries. i'll check it out tomorrow. If so, then I could just lock my car and it would automatically arm itself and make my life alot easier. I'll keep you guys updated.
