I can understand concern, after all i think there is a percentage of people here that won't believe anything till they actually see it. Like the picture at the beggining of this post.

Blind faith is hard.............but I also believe that the reported horsepower will be there. 270 will do the job

but let's play devils advocate : if the Evo was 250 horsepower....wouldn't it still be superior to the wrx because of it's lighter weight , better handleing and ease of upgradeability?

No I would also prefer 270 hp, but it wouldn't change my decision of what to drive.

 

If that is the 8 for the states.....it is without a doubt "off the hook" ! ! ! I dont think i can wait for jan...i feel like a junkie !

 

Actually the Evo will make its world debut at the LA Auto Show. The countdown hits zero at exactly Noon on January 3rd, right around the time of Mitsu's press conference. And that's a fact!

BTW Fireball, are you holding anything back? Because yesterday I was able view the folder with the pics at http://www.the-shadows.net/evo8/ Now it just says "NO SNOOPING!"

 

Anyway my dealer told me that i'm getting my car during the month of January. How could that be if they recieved the new last week? Then again they also mention that they sometimes get them a month late than quoted

Well, I think I can share this: the better dealers (there are some tough parameters that put all dealers on 5 different levels- the higher tiered dealers will recieve more product, and sooner) will get thier first car in January so we are told. And to make it more interesting, instead cars being built to order, the first shipment (or 2) will be pre-produced and matched to dealer requests. In my case it puts some extra pressure on me to satisfy my orders.

In your case it also gives very little pre-launch info to the dealer, and thus you. Be patient with your dealer- I'm sure they are great people too- Just trying to make you as happy as possible.

And yes being an new vehicle it's possible final quality checks could slow the car. But not always. The good news here is that it is an evolved car not compleately brand new from concept.

So a word to all - We are working for you, please work WITH us! were are as crazy for the Evo as you are!
