The rear lights are ugly!! So is the baby blue color . . .

Everything else looks awesome though!
Which color do u guys want to get?

I think black is very nice but err, trust me, black is a Pain to take care of and the Mitsu black paint is crap, total crap.
The Red is also really nice but it does stand out.

I'll go for white or silver. Silver is somewhat plain though.

I was going for black but if the blue is similar to the WRX then I'll go for that. White is nice but no more white or red cars for me.

anyone else notice that that spec sheet had a 6 speed trann in the GSR specs? Why would MMC release a 6 speed to the rest of the world and a 5 speed to the US? that makes no sense to me.... one never knows though

Not sure why they're doing it, but the US will definitely only have a 5-speed. My guess is that the JDM version will always be more advanced and trying newer technologies than the US version. I'm sure that in the next model year or so we'll see the stuff that the JDM version has. Unfortunately we'll always be a year or two behind them.

Well, they probably don't want to test this six-speed in the US for now. No one knows exactly how much stress this tranny can take. Americans do drive their cars in a way that stresses the tranny more than the Japanese do.

I would rather have a 5 speed anyway. Allows for beefier gears, and less shifting.

I disagree, I was told that the 6-speed is too new and with the U.S. having more than 1 year warrenty, doesn't want to take the chance. Truthfully, i'd rather have the 5 speed since it's been proven. This senario is understandable for manufacture to do if the product is brand new. Unless of course it's an already proven trans such as the brog warner T6 or getrag 6speed from the supra turbo. Dont' kid yourself, we all know mitsubishi is not known for quality. And people buy the evo for it's radical performance not reliability.

Hopefully the ACD or AYC testing goes well so we could see those in the near future. I know people are breaking these hi-tec gizmo in asia and is worried. Why not offer them twice as expensive as an optional for people who are interested. I do see the point on Tech guy not certified to work on these advance units but then again subaru is just around the corner. And yes if one car has the active diff i'm going for it! Meaning selling my evo or giving up my spot.

We all know subaru is probably kicking themself for not offering the 6-speed in the wrx. So many tranny issues. From this i feel mitsubishi is conservitive on the matter. I've hear they did so band-aid fix to save the tran but decrease the performance but that's another topic.

Oh yeah thanks fireball for contributing on the forums I'll assume that you have close ties with mitsubishi and no comment on ACD meaning we're not getting it. The rep told me Maybe on this so i'm still iffy. If they really want to beat subaru just offer both ACD/AYC. With those the Evo is a far superior road machine.

not really... 6th gear is only for highway driving... lowers the rpm of you motor at cruise speed and saves on the powerplant (a little bit, but hey something is better then nothing) as well as saving on gas milage. My buddies Z06 gets almost 30 mpg on longish trips, my fd gets 23. In town our milage is almost the same.... I would give you really big odds that his 6th gear is the difference.

Only true for american cars. For example celica gts and subaru sti. The 6th gear on the sti is shorter than the 5-speed wrx! More geared for acceleration.

Hey! I was just going to say the exact same thing.

Japanese like to tune thier trannys so that top speed is hit in top gear right around peak hp. Makes for all round quick acceleration all the way up to max speed.

Also of note, the stat sheet that is out there now states our highway gas mileage will be 27 mpg anyhow. So, we don't need the 6-speed that bad anyhow.

Is this going to mean that they stretched out the ratios for the american 5-speed? I hope they didn't

Either way, i'm happy. Silver Evo here I come.
