What do you mean an open downpipe? You mean cut-outs or just running only downpipe? It also depends on the dealership if they will void your warranty, and what is the actual problem with the car. I've had mods on my car and my dealership hasn't said anything and never been more friendly, but i've heard some very stupid warranty stories..

long as its under 95 db, you'll be fine.
why would you want to do that tho, you could as well, just get no cat with straight pipe.
That way you don't get all the exhaust fumes coming inside the interior of the car.
Are you trying to do this with stock? you'll get pulled over.

I had that for about a week on my MR. I made the mistake of leaving my old Buschur exhaust at my friends garage. (It was from my 2003 EVO VIII) So when I went to install the exhaust on my new MR the catbypass pipe was missing I found that out after I had the stock exhaust off of the MR and my 3' downpipe on the MR. I frantically searched for it and did not find it . So I made an emergency call to Buschur Racing. Jarrod at Buschur helped me get my bypass pipe to me before X-mas. A word of warning open exhaust like that is freaking LOUD. On the way home from having bolted up just the downpipe people in their cars were looking at me as if I had broken the sound barrier and my neighbors were like thats way too loud. The only funny thing was that my neighbors kids were like talking to their little friends saying that car is a race car LOL.
So just a warning to you if your gonna drive it on the street your gonna get lots of looks and probably a few tickets.
Just my experience
Derek
