Porsche 997 S Vs. Stock EVO
Porsche 997 S Vs. Stock EVO
I have a friend who has just purchased a 2005 Porsche 997 S... I figure from a roll it'd totally demolish the EVO ... But would a stock evo keep up from a dig?
Any idea's?

Road and Track has 0-60 on the Carerra S at 4.2 and to 100 at I think 10.7
Best I've seen on an evo (RS) was 4.4 and 12.7 in Motor trend if my memory serves me correctly.
Of course the evo would beat the 2004 which was around 5 seconds I think but might catch the evo after 1/4 mile.
You'd definately want to have a 10.5 hotside (+ accompanying mods) to make a run at the '05 Porsche - or a really strong magnet.
yeh, my bad, 997 is the new porsche 911 with the old school round headlights.
The carrera S has .3 liter more engine than the regular carrera model, with 30 more chp, which is 355hp.
it does 0-100mph in 10.7, and 0-124mph in 16.4 seconds, which is fairely fast.
0-60 in 4.6 seconds and goes upto 183mph.
You wont have a chance with the new carrera S with stock evo. Your stock evo at best will do quarter in mid 13's stock, if you're a fantastic driver, but if you're not, 14's in quarter mile.
Carrera does mid 11's with pro driver and probably your normal dad with tiptronic will do mid 12's, if its broken in.
Good luck. Be careful.

Wow who said it comes with awd and a v6? I really am surprised with some of the overall intelligence levels of memebers on these boards.... and its cayenne... I guess you could call it a V6 with a 180 degree v? Its called a flat 6.
