Smile Gtech Pro RR runs

Playing with my new toy I got for xmas, got out and did some runs my new Gtech Pro RR while the snow is melting. These are all 2nd gear pulls. Didn't do any 1/4 mile times yet, waiting till I drive out to my deserted flat road waaaay in the country. I was pleasantly surprised how well the Gtech was to use and set up. My car is bone stock. I had my car as being 3500lbs with me in it. (220lbs, phat bastard.) All in all I think pretty accurate considering wind resistance.

It's the newer version of the old Gtech Pro , can record Drag or Road Race runs and download the info to your computer:

sweet. I always wonder if that shifter light worked on manual cars, because from what I heard it only works on sequential shifters.

These runs were just for getting a good second gear pull, so I only took it to 4k in first gear, hence the 7.xx 0-60Mph times...

After you calibrate the tach on the Gtech, You can set the shifter light to kick in at any desired RPM. It's accurate too...

That is awsome. How much is the computer interface worth to you? Would you strongly reccomend the RR over the SS with no PC interface? I am about to buy one and am stuck between the two models....

Yeah, I was going in between which to get before I got this one as a gift

$100 is a big jump to take just for basically a PC interface and software. The one thing that steered me toward the RR model though if I was going to buy one was another piece of software:

http://www.slip-angle.com/

Using the RR's downloaded data you can plot out your track/autocross runs on a map. Hope to use this in the upcoming autox season.

Smoooooth.... But I think you need to re-adjust te G-tech for your car's weight. There is no way you are 4222 pounds, that's the maximum capacity for the car. I calculated out my weight to be 3550 with me in it (220 pound in current trim) I have the sunroof as well. Best thing to do is to go to a scale to get a really accurate reading...
