No doubt, but I for one like "clean" installs. This adaptor will allow me to make the install look OEM.

True... and with the amount of money we spend on our Evos, what's $50, right? Well, I'll see if 42DD has any info / prototype pictures on their site.

From what I was told, the website should be updated this week.

sorry, landed just after midnight, got home at 4am, and a bit tired

it's kinda hard to take a good picture, but it's really pretty simple, just brass fittings.

it's not that hard, i went with the bigger Sized T, so that flow restriction wasn't an issue. they had smaller T's, but better safe than sorry, esp when you're pumpin water to the turbo

3/4 T.
but not sure of what size the hose fittings were (the nipples that go inside the stock rubber pipe.

You also need your temp sender unit, so you take it all down to advance, or napa, and get the whole setup done in one.

So if 42DD were to offer the thermostat housing w/ a bung welded on, they would have to sell the part I circled. That part itself costs $55 from mitsubishiparts.net.

If you place a bung on the elbow after the thermostat, it'll still read the same as the upper radiator hose.

It's probably easiest to just tap the turbo water line for the temp reading.

Ok, having said that and looking at 42 designs housing isnt the sender port on the wrong side of the thermostat?

looks like it's not any different than tapping into the hose after the radiator... but maybe this product is aimed towards making people's lives easier, and not necessarily to get the most accurate coolant reading.

I do like that a lot better than tapping the upper radiator hose. It looks a lot cleaner. I'll get this eventually to clean up the engine bay.

Yeah, I'm leaning towards the easier installation, and just not worry about whether or not the thermostat has failed. I just want to get rid of another blinking light on my gauge panel.
