I had a very similar problem.... after about 2K miles on my new 05 I had similar binding in turns. Turns out the factory never filled my Transfer Case with fluid. Good news was everything was covered under warranty and they were very nice and gave me a loaner car for the 2 weeks it took them to order and replace the Transfer Case. Big thumbs up for the service dept at Mile High Mitsubishi in Denver. I only hope that you have as painless of an experience as I did. Good luck.
you guys KILL me "DEMAND A NEW CAR"...."BLAH BLAH BLAH!" "Demand Compenstion!" "Tell them it's a Lemon" .......HA!!!!!!!! It doesn't work that way people. As soon as you sign on the line...you are responsible for the car and the functioning of the car. Also, the lemon law does not apply till it happens 3 times...the same problem. Mitsu is fullfilling their obligation to fix it so what is the big freaking deal....it's a car...he just had the bad luck of getting one with a defective part....GET OVER IT PEOPLE! Happens to even BMW's, mercedes, and many other companies with cars that are priced well above ours!

This is a good lesson to drive a car before you buy it for a significant amount of time to make sure it works good. And if the dealership wont let you, go to a different one. You can't catch everything, but if you roll off the lot after signing for the car and its already messed up, its partially your fault too for being a non-discriminating customer.

Thanks BS.. You buy a brand new car just to avoid those things.. BRAND NEW CAR! Everything is to be perfect.. how would you feel if you bought a brand new $35k car and something broke, and the dealer was like "oh you should have checked that first, tough luck"? That is the whole reason anyone would take 1/2 value drop when they drive their newly purchased vehicle off the lot... This guy should be compensated, if it takes a whole new car.. so be it.. whateva

That is what the warranty is for, despite the hearsay on this board about warranty issues with Mitsubishi. If you have that big of a problem with it, bring it to my dealership and we'll fix it for you. We don't just deny warranty claims to deny them. Heck I don't think there is one warranty claim we really have denied to be truthful.
Name one car maker that compensates the owner of a car for warranty work.....uhhhhm....let me think! NONE! How many car makers will give you a brand new car for a problem happening the first time......uhhmmm....you guessed it........NONE! Get off your high horses people. Quit thinking that just becuase you bought a 30 grand car that you may have to struggle to afford, you should be treated differently than a guy that bought a 15 grand car that he struggles to afford. The Evo is a great and original car to own. But it is no different than that guy that bought a 13 grand cavalier in some respects. Both are cars and both have warranty's. And yes, both will have issues. They are man made objects and not "perfect" by any means.

Mercenary... hate to break it to you, but I had my 05 EVO for over 2 months before the TC showed any symptoms of a problem... You would be hard pressed to find a dealer that will let you "test drive" a car for 2 months... Drivetrain problems take quite a while to surface, becuase it will work properly for a relatively long time before it starts to fail. I normally dont disagree with someone strongly enough to come back and refute their post, but in this particular instance you are just wrong...
