It will probably have to go back in again...

And I agree, the US service centers appear to have no idea what they are doing on evo's

stand firm.. they'll replace the stuff. make sure it's all 100% right before you take it home.

This nightmare will be over soon...and you'll be driving your evo and loving every minute of it.

hang in there..

that sounds like when i dropped off my car for a new 5th gear and syncro and i called two days later and it was stolen.

trust me bro...i can relate to your situation.

All i can tell you for advice is....take a few deep breath's, realize that no one close to you just died, and be patient.

It's going to take a while for this sh_t to work out and there is nothing you can do about it...just be patient and it'll work out in some way or another.

I know guys I am trying... I am just really upset. I am spending most of my money on this car. EVO is basically my dream car yet somehow having it has turned into a nightmare. Im just going to wait patiently until I get it back. No body damage was done at all other than the front grille was ripped out but front mount is untouched.

I will NOT accept the car back unless I am more than satisfied.

They took the seats, the SHIFT KNOB, and my V1 cord from the glovebox (I took home the actual V1). For some reason they left ALL Stero stuff intact, including the sub and the amp. The battery is missing as well...hmm. Weird **** if you ask me. I am going to be w/o a car for like 3 weeks now. This is terrible.

Do you guys know of any way Mitsu would pay for this month's payment? My payment is $570/month and out of the 30 days I will have driven it 5 days, broken no less. I couldnt be any more unhappy. I think Id be happier if they just stole it and I could get a new one.

So is Freehold Mitsu paying for your new car or are you going through your insurance. Because this is the process right now. I have to make a claim through my insurance and Allstate said then they go after Freehold Mitsu's insruance.

Joel, BTW now that you told me this, Im convinced there is something going on at that dealer very sketchy. The sales manager Joe told me that this has only happened once in the last 3 years, and it was last year. So he neglected to tell me about your car - also, I find it funny my car was in back completely unprotected, I am sure yours was too. Something doesnt smell right with this situation.

Let me know what youre doing with insurance b/c I am getting the usual run-around.

Don't pay for the damages with your insurance! They had the car there so they are responsible for it. Sounds kinda fishy to me that they didn't keep a customer car inside over night. And they got the ***** to talk to your mom about using your insurance! I think you better start to call some people up in corporate and tell them if you don't have the car back with the quickness your going to take them to court for your monthly payment and for all the stress they have been putting you through. If that doesn't work, lawyers do wonderful work. Invest in one. I hope everything works out for you, good luck.

Well, supposively they arent responsible for the cars on their lot, its basically like your car getting broken into in any parking lot. But whatever, my mom is currently talking to our lawyer, so I hope he can come lay down the law.

I thought about threatening but since they are going to have my car for a while I dont want to create trouble. And when you say corporate, you mean at Mitsu or the dealer's GM/owner.

Haha sorry man but when I read that I was laughing my *** off but just the way you worded it. And I was thinking in my head, well I'll just call the dealership today and see how the ole EVO's doing and he's like sorry your car got jacked... Sorry it happened to you, but I remember when I had my WRX the guys on clubwrx would mention once a week that a WRX was stolen in New Jersey. I hope you got everything straightened out.

Oh man and to Soon2BEVO I am so sorry to hear this is happening to you. It was one thing to have one of the diff's act up but having your car broken into and then having them file it on your insurance, I would of prolly lost it and would of had to be restrained. For any company to act in there manor is outrageous and for this to happen to more than one person something just dont seem right. Please keep us updated on how things are going, and I'm so glad you already have a lawyer. Bottom line and without a shadow of a doubt I would take nothing less than a bran new car with 1 mile on it, or an MR with say 15 miles on it

Good luck and keep us updated!

The dealers are privately owned I'm saying to actualy talk to Mitsu the car company. AS far as them not responsible for the car, did they tell you this when you left the car or do they have a sign saying this. Because if they didn't It's on their private property and they parked it there so it's their responsibility.

UPDATE:

Well, the car is almost fully repaired from the break-in. Window is fixed, shift knob/seats are in, battery, and new front grille. There is some scratching from when they ripped out the front grille so its going to the body shop for 1 day.

Now, the BAD NEWS. As if I havent had enough bad luck... it got 10x worse. Well to my knowledge I was told the new rear diff was coming in this past Friday (yesterday). Well, the service manager called me and said it didnt come and its not going to, not this this entire week!

I am #7 or 8 on a list of people with 2005 EVOs that need a new rear differential, so clearly this is an inherent problem. With that being said, Joe the SM told me there is a possibility he will get it in 2 weeks... you think thats long? If I dont get it in 2 weeks, GUESS how long... MID MARCH. I almost started laughing. It doesnt get any worse than this...

There is obviously no way I am waiting until March. They said Mitsu will credit me for my car payments blah blah, who cares.

NY Lemon Law is fully sustainable if you do not have your vehicle for more than 30 days within first year/12k miles. Tomorrow it will already be 10 days gone.

So basically, I'll know on Monday or Tuesday how long the diff will take. If its March, its hello lemon law.

The ****ty part is I REALLY love the car. EVO is my dream car, let alone that blue with the leather, HIDs, etc. I finally get it, drive it for 5 days and this happens, it gets bad, worse, even more worse, now to just about as bad as it can get. I feel like someone let me borrow their EVO or something. Terrible. ****.

BTW - Mitsubishi is the most terrible corporation I have ever seen. 90% of their dealers are *******s, the service people are not helpful, and they dont do anything for you when **** like this happens. Their REALLY lucky the EVO is such a sick car because I didnt LOVE the EVO, there is no way in hell Id bring my business back to them. And they wonder why their doing so bad financially
