This is also illegal in MD. Its to prevent thieft and help the enviroment.

Also the law does not mention anything about keys, its simply states that if the car is on and your are not inside you get a ticket, its a points violation here.

Talk to the cop about it, explain why you are doing it and hopefully they will understand.

You would have gotten a ticket for leaving the car running and not for "not having a turbo timer".

Up here in the snowbelt, people get busted all the time for running into a store while the car is still running. Local news just reminded everyone it's illegal. Local cops reported at least 10 cars are stolen every winter b/c of this.

No, he's correct. He's saying if he had a turbo timer, he wouldn't have had to leave it running with the keys in the ignition. I thought it was wrong too, until I read what he was saying...

there was a case in ct a couple years ago where a guy went inside a convenience store to get something for his pregnant wife who was back home. he left the car running while he went inside. came out to find his car gone. someone had stolen it. the thief then got into a cop chase, wrecked the car. The thief then ended up sueing the guy he stole the car from saying that had he not left the keys in the car, he wouldnt' have stolen it, not gotten into a car chase and wrecked the car and got hurt. the thief one the case. but thats f***ed up ct for you.
if i remember correctly, it has something to do with leaving a vehicle unattended that they can give you a ticket for

No because the cop told me you can only get the ticket if the key is in the ignition. if you have a turbo timer you take the key with you.

I know that in New Jersey there is a law that you can not keep a running car unoccupied or you face the possibility of a ticket if a cop comes by.

That is a stupid way to think, you need reliability mods or else your car won't be going anywhere. Just get a TT.

Oh I see now. My bad. If anything I'd be worried about somebody stealing my car if I left it on and walked away. It happened to a coworker of mine when she stopped for directions at a gas station.

You don't need reliablity mods if you're willing to take the time out of your life/fun that they normally do while you get on with things...I couldn't live without my TT, I run around too much, but if you have the extra minute or so to wait, then you're good

It is illegal here in florida to leave your car while your keys are in it. There was a big thing on the news a couple months back about people running into 7-11's and leaving there car running. They were all getting tickets.
