There are certain reliability mods that you do need, such as a fuel pump for saftey, oil catch can to help prolong the life of the car. They are always good to have.

...Most of you guy's comment refer to the car running with the keys in it... some don't, some say running at all.

you're gonna tell me that remote start is illegal? if thats the case, how the heck do so many companies get away with selling it, and now GM having it standard on the G6 (just saw on commercial)?

No, leaving the keys in the car while running is illegal. A key wouldn't be needed in the ignition for a remote starter nor a turbo timer.

the title of the thread is retarded. you made it sound like you have to buy a TT or you get a ticket.

NFW I would just walk off and leave my car running...no TT for me, either, cuz I like to leave it in gear when I park it...a habit from hilly Virginia...not as necessary here in table-flat Florida, but old habits die hard...

That is a good point i never thought about the people in hilly areas. i also live in florida so leaving it in gear doesnt make much sense, although i always do. As far as leaving my car running i dont walk far from it. i always leave it in plain sight, like at a 7-11 where i dont think it is worth shutting off or waiting for it when i will just be in and out. As far as being scared about theifs I live in a very low crime area. not a big city like some of you.

Question for some of you with the TT. can you lock your doors with the remote when
the car is running?

At least 10 car thefts per winter season in my town. Erie, PA population = 150,000. Closer to small town than big. Do as you please, but you have a sharp car sitting in the parking lot with the keys in it.

It sounds like the best solutions are:

1.) Run the car easy for the last few miles before parking it and/or
2.) Get a TT so technically your keys are out of the car when you set the timer to leave.

If a cop ever threatens you with a ticket for leaving the EVO on, on cooldown, I'd nicely ask him to pull out his statute book, so you can learn what the law says, and help them know this is not common public knowledge.

If he does give you a ticket, and you have a turbo timer, you may (depending on the way the law is written) get off because your keys are out of the car, with the TT on cooldown, ready to shut off the car.

Good Luck,

jcnel.

I understand what you are saying and no it is not a smart thing to do. I also havent
done it since i was told by the cop i have just been taking it easy in the car for the
last few miles and the letting it sit for a few seconds.

offened no, however the point of the title is to give some idea and to catch your
attention. i could not put the whole post in the title so i used what i did because it made sense to me. I ma sorry i didn't to you. however the title must have worked
because it got your attention so to say the least it is not retarted but functional.

Also, if you're not bouncing the tach needle over 3K, then you don't necessarily need to cool it down.

Tickets for leaving the car running???.......Another good reason to get rid of that worthless TT. Those things are nothing but a PITA and an inconvenient, dangerous thing.
