Biggest weakness of the supra is launching it you get too much wheelspin unless you run drags
And of course know how to drive.
So the real question is since you drive both, which one do you think win in a road course? (Similarly modded lets say single turbo supra vs big turbo evo)

My guess is a driver race, the supras being faster on longer top end courses and the evo being faster on a shorter track....how that sound?

Lol lets go play some GT4!

I raced a Stock 93 TT Supra when my EVO was stock (going easy off the line). It was a close race with me ahead by about 1/2 car by 75 where I backed off... I suspect I would have been passed if we had continued the race... Very similar stock performance numbers between the two and that was apparent. A mildly modded supra pulls like a monster up top...

Can the Supra hang with a fairly mod'd EVO on a circuit or auto cross event? I know they are Dyno Kings and straight line warriors but how are they on a real track?

Thanks

they're def better than the credit ppl give them... for some reason, ppl overlook the handling side of the Supra... maybe ppl are too concerned with putting up the big power numbers... It pulled awesome skidpad and slalom #'s, plus it's six speed was sweet for the closed tracks... there's a best motoring of a stocker beating the hell out of a R33 on a closed track... but there's one that has a modded one getting beat by a R34... and another vid of it taking the R34... it's a crap shoot...

All ppl worry about is 1/4mile... why??? I don't know, but that's america for you... why do you think the Evo hasn't come over that soon??? simple, because mitsu believed that ppl would just drag it... that's what ppl do to the supra all the time... and that's what a lot of ppl do to Evo... it's a damn shame too, missing out on the real purpose of the car... want to go fast in a straight line??? Go buy an old Cuda with a Hemi in it, a 454SS Chevelle, or a Mustang with a 428CJ in it... but i wish ppl wouldn't turn Evo's into straight liners, it actually saddens me......

Everybody buys big displacement, slaps a blower on it and runs 10s. What fun is that when everybody does it. I would rather build up something harder to obtain. Of course the evo is fun for turns too, but honestly that type of racing is expensive.

I hear you, and yes the Supra handling and all around performance is very over looked. Still I don't think anybody should be looked down upon because they want to drag their EVO, no more than some one who wants to autocross or rally their EVO. It's their choice, and the EVO is a very capable drag car. The EVO is one of very few cars that allows you to have fun with it in so many ways. Perhaps drag racing isn't your cup of tea, then so be it, nobody gonna give you sh*t. Say one day, you wake up and decide that "F*ck it, I want to canyon run my EVO against bikes." Well slap on a big turbo with supporting mods, revise the suspension a bit and the brakes, and go have fun. Not very many cars can do this, without drastic changes. The point is the EVO can do so many things, so don't try to take something away from it, just because your not into it.
