A Must read for anyone considering DynoFlash's services...

I set an appointment with Al for today, 12:00 pm EST at Pruven Performance in Milford, CT. I live north of Boston so one way travel was 180 miles, roughly 3 hrs, 15 minutes. Oh and I asked for the day off from work as well. I confirmed the day and time with Al on January 19th and emailed and pm'd him yesterday to confirm.

I should have smelled something when I got no confirmation but I figured, Al doesn't want to be bothered by my due diligence, I'll just show up because if I don't, and he does, I'm possibly out $300.

I make the ride down to Pruven and called Dan at Pruven at 9:00 am to confirm with him that they'll be there and I'm scheduled to be there with Al at 12:00. Dan says that I'm not in the book but that doesn't mean Al wont be there.... another question mark goes up.

Dan tries calling Al all morning as I'm making my commute there and calls me at 11:00 to say he's not heard from Al. At this point I'm 40 minutes from Pruven so I'm not turning back and Dan says, he's gonna pop up at some point today, come down and hang out. So I do, I hang out for 3 hours waiting for Al!!!!!! Numerous calls from Dan and me turn up nothing, Al is not responding to my pm's or calls.

This just may be a calendar breakdown on Al's part but, he knew I was coming 3 hours to meet him as we discussed this on the phone and, that I needed to know the availability of the AWD dyno at Pruven a week in advance so I could get the time off... Have I missed anything here....

Bottom line, if you run a business and respect your customers, you do the right thing. If you can't make an appointment you call the customer and cancel before they get in their car and drive 3 hours and, take the day off of work!

Al, I deserve a response to understand why you weren't there today. Also, there are two solutions to this:

1. Al, you credit my paypal account the 299.00 I paid in advance or,

2. You drive to Boston and perform the custom tune, which obviously would be a road tune.

Your choice but I refuse to drive 3 hours again for your services.

Thanks for everyone's attention and I hope this helps someone who was considering arranging a custom tune and has a commute like I have. Make sure you confirm with Al on day and time, and double check 2 days before your appointment. Also, check with Dan at Pruven to make sure you're in the book, even though it is not Dan's responsibility.

And Al, you owe Dan an apology as he was apologizing for you all day

Sorry for posting this twice but not sure if the message will get across in other area where it's posted.

I wanna make a comment about road tuning.
Unless you have a wideband O2 in your car and an EGT gage road tuning is not possible. You also do not get the confirmation that you should get running a certain setting is giving you the proper amount of power (ex: why run a 11.9:1 a/f if it makes 1 more hp over 11:1 a/f? your motors safety is worth 1 hp). Being that said you might as well put a regular Flash on your ECU and go with something safe and hopefully tested.
I think you should be invited back to Pruven and get your custom tune as promised...and get your money back.

Simply put, tune your car on a dyno with a wideband O2 sensor.
Changing settings to your engine tune by "how fast you feel the car is going" is dangerous.

Sounds like you got screwed. I'm sure Al (DynoFlash) will take care of you though. He takes care of his customers. I have seen this time and time again at some of the dyno days where he has been tuning. For example, in my case specifically, my car got on the dyno for a custom tune and was not making any power. Al and Dan felt that there was a boost leak. The guys at Pruven took care of the boost leak, but there wasn't enough time to put my car back on the dyno with the busy schedule a dyno day presents. So Al gave me a free retune, including dyno time at Pruven. I have seen him do things like this with a lot of his customers. I'm sure that your situation will be resolved and you will end up getting what you paid for.

Wait a minute guys, give Al a chance to speak up. Maybe he had an accident on the way there and is unconscious or maybe some other kind of extreme emergency. Has he posted up today?
