Autometer....Yes I hold boost at 21psi and it tapers a little at redline with the light spring

In fact, I recall it saying in the manual to use the light spring up to 30psi

you know, i've noticed that if you set your Boost at 18.5 ~19 psi or lower, it'll tend to taper down to 16psi, but if you're 19.5 and up psi, then it'll stay up there.

Maybe its just my car, but i thought that was interesting.

I got mine set at 20psi, peaks to 21 psi and comes down to 20psi and holds.

sweet. well, it's advised that you use heavy spring because some of the light springs that comes with the mbc wont hold more than 14 psi.

i just got my kit in the mail....and am about to order the cockpit add on. My question is, do you have to take the knob of the MBC( the one that says + and - boost w/ arrows) and use that on the remote kit? If so..ive tried to take it off, and it wont come off. ANyone know?

I am using the light spring and will boost to 1.45bar without a problem... I think the ceramic ball + heavy spring combo is a waste of the RX. Just get the pro if you are not using the light spring.

My evo is stock, I only have perrin exhaust system , k&n filter and MR BOV. With this setting how many psi is safe to run with 93 octane gas. I am going to install a hallman pro rx. I am planning to set to 19.5 psi but que question is if my car spike over 20 psi can it hurt my engine and how can i prevent spike to happend??

Iam going to install mbc connecting to the wastegate and t between bov and intake manifold.

and my answer is, check out my install directions with these wonderful threads in it on hallman MBC and the pro and cons of hooking it up differently at:

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...an+mbc+install

I use to spike to 24 psi for a sec. It shouldn't hurt if you spike that much but it's not that good for the engine, since you'll lean out when it spikes to 24 psi.

I have mine set at 21 psi usually, it stays at 22psi, then drops to 20 psi.

Set it at 20 psi, it'll drop to 19 psi.

Set it at 19 psi, it'll taper to 16 psi, go figure, i don't know.

Finally i installed my Hallman MBC with heavy spring, its incredible solid to 19 psi to redline. I connect it between the bov and the intake and from the wastegate. no spikes. The difficult part was to remove the radiator fan. That was mission imposible but with 2 or 3 coffees and do it on sunday with no phone answering. the mission was accomplish. Once the fan was remove the rest is easy. I broke the hose that came from the turbo nipple when i tried to pull it, but i think that a piece of hose from Pepboys can resolve that situation.

Finally when everything was in place and several test with aproximately 2 full turns with the mbc knob it load to 19psi.

thanks for your help
