I am not going to criticize u or anyone here. I share the same view as many here. I still think it's better to buy an manual RA first and buy an EVO when u get more experience driving a car. I wouldn't even trust myself 3 years ago with a car let alone an EVO not because I am gonna street race or beat the heck out of it but I believe that driving in a basic and cheaper car for awhile will make anyone a better driver down the road. Cars can always wait for the driver. The driver should improve themselves to deserve any car especially the EVO.

I can't believe how many people are overreacting about the situation, give the kid a break. I am sure when you guys were all 16 and had a chance to get an evo, you would be tempted to get it. Also, I am sorry to say, but some kids are given a lot more expensive cars than evo's and have completely totalled them and been given an even faster car the next week. Give the kid a chance, he seems responsible and to those who think that all those AP classes don't take extreme patience, organization, and responsiblity, please think again.

Derekgoes, there will always be people who are jelious. Just remember to keep your head up.

I couldn't have put it better myself! Leave the kid alone, it's not his fault his parents can afford to give him a nice car. And AP classes do take a ton of work (I'm taking 6 of them this year, so I know). Also, stop criticizing younger drivers! It's a stereotype and you shouldn't categorize people.

Derrick to the Lee, a straight G,

Would you mind listing all the dealerships in socal you got thrown out of trying to get your ridiculus price OTD?

It seems you have grown a foot taller since we last saw you and your pops. 5'2" > 6'2"

Did you ever cut that mop on your head?

An EVO is a car you should build up to and pay your dues in my opinion to get it. I'm just 23 now, but have a degree and am active duty in the military, and some pretty damn good money management skills (we dont make alot) . And at times I still find myself setting home on the weekends just so I can enjoy this car. Just a thought and to be general the average person probably pays atleast $600 out a month on there EVO and I know there is no way going to HS or college you can manage this without mommy & daddies help. So basically dont dream you can because you probably cant and sorry but I know you are not ready for this car no matter how mature you think you are.

Staton
LAUGH MORE PLZ i am paying for 100% of my car i work full time and go to collage full time. and i got a better deal on my car then you did , sucks to be you ! GL on ur payments. Btw evo was myt first car and i have not wrecked it or damaged it in anyway. i also learned to drive a stick in my EVo. and the only thing momy and daddy does is feed me. one thing i cant do is afford a house and an evo. and im only 18 !!!!!! oh im very imature too, so young and stupid thats me you AND thoes who think alike.

Man you're lucky. I'm driving a beat up old POS Mazda Protege and saving all my cash for an Evo. Hopefully by summer i'll be able to own one. I didn't read all the pages but i must admit, you have some great parents offering to buy you a TL or G35, especially if they're fully loaded. Whatever your decision comes to, i wish you the best of luck.

EDIT: Never mind, mommy backed out, so just disregard the thing that i wrote above.

This is exactly the reason why, you guys shouldn't be allowed to own an EVO. You guys have no control over your emotions, period. Now it is true that some younger drivers are more mature than some older ones out there, but not you guys! Name calling under the slightest question that may seem like provocation ..... just imagine what kind of danger that attitude brings to the street when given control of such a powerful machine. It's attitudes like that put people's lives in danger coz I bet you're not one to back away when challenged. Not only that but when you crash the car the insurance rates go up for the rest of us ..... so far you guys have shown me no evidence of maturity to justify owning such an awesome car .... hey but what to I know ...

not sure why i am even responding i will not change your view and please dont tell me how i controll my emotions. That may have a small affect on how i drive. im going to try anyway...... I dont beat my car nor do i race others on public roads i do not speed , i do not cut others off, i have never been ticketed for any traffic violation what so ever, can you claim the same ? it almost seems like you think that you are better than me becuase it took you a longer amount of time to be able to afford an evo like you learned something that i did not by doing so ? is this the case ? i belive you said you were 23 ! wow i should prolly respect my elders ya think ? Sorry to say but you are in the same category as i am on this forum YOUNG PUNK DRIVER regardless of your intentions. Ru possibly jealous ? i duno i wont try to examin your mind as you did mine.

offer to take driving lessons from perfessionals that way you will have a better idea how to handle a car like the Evo and hey its track time which is always good and peace of mind for your parents that at least you had the proper training.
