I've hope you've sat in one of those before and believe me you have to be shaped like a toothpick to fit comfortablely for more than 1hr drive.

Good for racing though. I'm personally surprised we get as much as we do and i'm still about 14" brakes.

Mann no offense though but I can't understand your post..Are you saying for us "to take a look at the evo seats and how it gets ****ed up in the U.S. and it does not have any support like the J-spec does, Looks ugly as hell and thanks to fat people that can't fit inside of a normal car."

Bro it aint our problem that the J-spec is designed for japanese people who are shorter and has a smaller body frame than the Americans...That's just how it is.

I don't want to be the bad guy in here , All I try to say is that sorry to the big people but the evo is a car for the pure racing entusiast and those seats in the picture are the perfect example, number 1 : those seats are not made that way just for fashion like millions of parts out there, you really need all the sopport you can get in the curves , the Gforces are strong and your legs and body start moving around like crazy and can even cause you to loose control of the car, so do me a favor If what are you looking for is comfort go and buy a cadillac or a buick.

It's not a matter a pure comfort. Fact is the typical american will not fit in the Japanese version Recaro seat. The other fact is these cars will be driven on streets more often than at a track or autox. If someone does plan to attend a massive amount of track events and finds the seats to lack support they can always buy aftermarket seats.

I don't get it... people are already bashing the seats in the evo, but they have ywet to see them in person or sit in them.... Recaro doesn't make bad seats... give MMC a chance

You know something . . . the US recaro seats are also the same seats on the European Evo 6/7
They are wider and do not have as much bolstering as the Japanese seats.

Having said that, the wider Recaro seats still dont have that good ergonomics as your *** will hurt after a few hours of driving. But it's probably due to the stiff suspension, which would no doubt be less stiff for US use . . .

The seats in the euro are the same as the jap seats.
Recaro make the best seats in the world.
I hope the quality has not been comromised on the US seats

Damn guys! Quit the cry baby crap! If you honestly think that mitsu is really gonna change the car that much to bring the evo here to the US. You really may need to ananlyze how you think mitsu is gonna make money then. Sure they may have put a different seat in due to being on average....overweight. But the only thing that mitsu is really doing is taking away a few things to make the car affordable....I am sure they will offer most of the stuff that people are *****in about later. But honestly...again...how many are gonna rally the freakin car....not many...how many AutoXers...maybe a few more than the ralliers. That is a very small population of people considering that the car is gonna be limited to under 5,000 sold. So again....people..come on! be happy that we will be able to just hear the name EVOLUTION in the line up mitsus vehicle line. I don't know about you all but!!!! I am DAMN!!!! excited about this whole situation cause I am getting a car that I have been dreaming about for 5 or 6 years now. Beggers CANNOT be choosers!

favre95, you're an idiot and quit your whining.
If you dont ask for something, you will never get it.
Do you think that if we did not ask for a WRX and the Evo, that these cars will magically come here by themselves? A big reason is that the people ask (or whine) for it.

Putting the JDM or a more bolstered recaro seat doesnt cost Mitsu much money, considering they buy the seats in huge amounts. 5k for the US and at least another 10k for the rest of the world.
So, stop telling people to *****/whine.

We can be Choosers if we wish and vote for that with your dollars.

people, people, people always trying to be smart. the evo is not just another car or another toy or a "cool" car just for going out and doing stupid drag racing or racing in the streets (or date chics ---that really low). some people want to become a better driver and try to push themselves and the car to the limits, getting to really know how things work and use a 100% of their potencial and know that if the time to run comes for any reason (Competition, Go to emergency room, Dearea) they have the ability and the skills to do it and not crash in the first corner,or get scared and hit the brakes and just lose control ... so for those who think that way is that I complain about the seats, for NO ACD , NO AYC . NO 6 Speed ...

The WRX setas are pretty supportive for stock.. But as someone already stated, don't go on long trips with it.. Very uncomfortable.. Maybe the EVO seats will offer some of both, support for enthusiastic driving and longer trips as well? Who knows, either way, I think they're pretty cool..
