I have a crack, my gf's evo's got 2 cracks, my friends' evo had a crack across the windshield.
So, it'll cost more to purcharse those high end thin glass but it should be the same for install.
I wonder if the Lancer ES winshield would fit an Evo. I wont mind having couple of pounds on my windshields for a piece of mind.

When I changed my windshield I actually took it from a regular Lancer Cedia (ES??) at 1/4 of the price and the only thing I had to do was to remove the rear view mirror mounting bracket from the EVO windshield and put it on the Cedia windshield since they were different.
ok the part number for the evo front windshield, according to mitsubishiparts.net, is MR991637 and they are asking $335. anyone find a cheaper price? my window crack spread again today about a foot curving downwards.
You should be looking local for this glass simply because the shipping and the high potential for damage would eat up a lot of time. Take it to a local glass shop or call one, most are mobile and ask them what it would be to have one installed. On something like glass a good price in another city is kind of irrelevant.
My price would be $329.90 but I wouldn't sell it to anyone that needed it shipped. Is any of this making sense?
FYI, the factory part #s are different for an ES than an EVO.

if anyone has any questions you can pm me or send me a tell on AIM...
i'm a certified auto glass tech (been for 8 years now)... and if you can cover the chip with a quarter, it can be repaired... if it's longer, it has to be replaced...
just because it doesn't say
on the windhshield, doesn't mean it's not made by the same people.... glass is out sourced just like EVERY other part in the world, so paying an extra $100 for the
part won't make a difference as long as you find the same manufacturer (or another quality one)...
the glass industry is sooo tricky because you might not get the service you deserve, sometimes insurance companies "steer" you to one glass shop over another because they get certain "discounts" on the price (i have expeienced it with friends and family before)...
basically, if you have a low deductible ($0-100) then thats all you pay...
