I think there is potential there!

I think the wheels look pretty slick, super low profile like look to them.

They look great, until they get full of mud and snow. Then what. Talk about unbalanced wheels!

I am sure they could close up the outer wall for the tires to appear like the "normal" tire we have now and to solve those issues. Maybe they left it like that to illustrate the new design.

I agree though that some issues will need to be looked into but you have to admit they are pretty cool. These may very well be the "future" in wheel/tire technology.

I have seen a tv show about this. It is definitely cool. I do wonder about debris that gets in the tire. This is the same issue as rims. I bet the production tires will have sidewalls, so the issue of debris would be mute.

I wonder what the difference in weight is between these tire and normal tires. Also, is the contact bigger than a normal tire?

i dont see this for sports cars but i can imagine this going into regular sedans in maybe 30- 40 years?
