what i find funny is that those that say things like "this is america, get used to it" or "that's just the way things are" etc. etc. don't know what it's like to be a minority in america. if we simply get used to these things or ignore them what happens? they continue.

at least file a complaint. you'll respect yourself more in the morning.

unfortunately, no one on this thread has said that. don't interpret things the way you want. read what's written.

Chances are you could fight it if what your saying is true. But if your really not supposed to have license plate covers, who cares about em, just take em off.

To use those quotes to come to your conclusion requires assumption. I don't entertain assumption which means I'll no longer entertain you. Thanks for noticing though.

I can't help but think cops here are slightly racist ... and making false assumptions and judgements ... and particularly on asians ...

Go do your self a favor and get a lawyer. That is wrong. My friends and i had an incident a few weeks back very similar and we complained to the police dept and have a lawyer invloved too.

am i suggesting the united states is the world.... am i suggesting that colonialization is the one sole dominating oppression throughout history and the world that still has implications today perhaps mor ethan ever and is a very prominant issue in asian american studies and ethnic studies and deserves to be recognized. verily verily yes.

i WILL give you a lesson in history. i will right now stop paralleling your STUPID comparison with someone getting pulled over to the terrible "black irish" phenemenon because you are trivializing their struggle.

i will suggest that everyone looks up a man name dennis kearny, an irishman, one who preached skapegoatism upon chinese americans. the same kearny that kearny street in china town san francisco is named after. this man single handedly (with the rally of his fellow immigrant irish) turned the western united states anti chinese and eventually founded a following which gave birth to the chinese exclusion act. a mark on AMERICAN history that is shameful and the very beginning of racist legislation. all with a phrase like "there are too many damn chinese here."

in fact this was the FIRST piece of racist legislation ever made... unforunately not the last. this piece of legislation also founded the basis of immigration law... ever wonder when america became a place where you don't "bring me your tired your weak." ever wonder exactly WHEN they decided to stop letting people in to have equal opportunity and pursuit of religion or "whatever america stands for?" it was HERE with the passing of the chinese exclusion act 1882. before that... everyone just came and went... no visas passports... NOTHING!

the irish got their relinquishment at the hand of displacing the hate onto another group of people. so let me bring this back to something you're familiar with, please don't be so ignorant as to even TRY and get **** here by saying that the above is anything CLOSE to "ok".

Actually had a cabbie use his voicemail on his cell phone to catch a Metro 'police' officer berating him for parking in a no park zone. The cabbie was from Pakistan and the cop made some racist remarks that were all captured via his cell phone and played on the evening news. I luv it when cops get busted! The officer was 'disciplined'( whatever that means ) and I hope he learned his lesson. So yes, the cell phone can be mightier than the badge( in some cases! ).
