Racist Experience with the Evo
Did you just say that you are a redneck? I sense some self-hate (j/k, be proud of whatever you are).
I think the thing you fail to understand is that race has always had a greater importance placed on it than other characteristics. How many societies would make people do ****ty (literally) jobs for being dark or enslave people for having a larger nose? I can't think of one, perhaps you could enlighten me. In that society I bet you someone would be enraged if another told them they had a big nose, perhaps it would be grounds to duel.
I also believe you might not understand that a lot of times a cop will pull over a black person over a white person just because they are "looking out for their race." When you get to more serious offenses, I doubt race plays as much of a role. America, like many societies, still places a great importance on race and that is something that can be fixed. I wish that skin color could just be another attribute, but it's hard to erase all of the fuss. Just my 2 cents.

I was trying to be empathetic.
I do understand that race has been more "important." I was being idealistic.
I also have addressed the point of a cop "looking out for their race" by attributing it to older generations and even small towns that feel like they are not enough of a part of mainstream society to keep up with the times.
I agree with what you have said. I also, as I mentioned, wish skin color could be just another attribute and that it exactly why I said it. Everything has to start somewhere. Why not here and now?

It's my opinion that people should be no more offended from a skin or eye comment than getting told they have a big nose, duck feet, short legs, whatever. Having the idea of racism just gives people an excuse to get excited about what is really nothing more than saying you have a big nose. Tons of people have big noses. I think mine is kind of big. If someone tells me that I am not going to cry nosism. Because you know what? So what if I have a big nose? It doesn't make me any more or less valuable than another person. So what if you have yellow or black skin? It doesn't make you any more or less valuable than another person. As long as you know that what's the problem? It's certainly not yours. It's theirs. Let them live their life with their problem. It's not going to affect the outcome of your life.

The guy who was pulled over was pulled over because of his license plate cover which are illegal in many places. What were you cited for? Surely not driving while black.
There are millions of black people who make it to their desinations every day without being pulled over. Why don't you examine your driving skills instead of your skin?
You have no idea how old it gets for us rednecks to hear, "Oh it's because I'm black, huh" when you don't get your way, especially when so many of us whitys are trying so hard to pass laws, act kindly towards, hire in favor of, etc, the minority. Damn, there are special grants, scholarships, job opportunities, etc etc etc because of skin color. Everybody wants their cake and eat it too. Nothing's ever good enough.
If you live your life looking for racism your bound to find it.

It might get old to you hearing people talk about their plight, but it does not make it any less real. I wish we could paint you black or turn you into an asian for a few months and see what kind of story you sing then. Some blacks an asians do call foul when nothing wrong has been done, but the vast majority of blacks and asians don't.
Like I said "he who feels it knows it ."
If you think racial profiling doesn't exist anymore you are being ignorant. EVOTEXAS you are right that being judged by your skin color is as dumb as being judged for any other physical attribute. Thats why it hurts so much to the victims.

Other times I have heard the infamous tail light out. It's especially funny when it's a brand new car whose tail lights are working perfectly. Also, I was not *****ing, but stating a fact from my experiences.

I guess the question is, What WERE you doing there?
No just kidding man. Look, if you think your life is hard because a cop is an *** to you, what can I say but I am sorry. What are you going to do about it is the real question. BTW, I thought Cali was so open minded and free. What's up with the cops there acting like small town sheriffs?

I can't help but think cops here are slightly racist ... and making false assumptions and judgements ... and particularly on asians ...
