Fueling the rumor flames

Ok, here is my .02 on the subject

I live in Las Vegas, home of the famous SEMA show. I talked to the sales manager from the largest Mitsu dealer in town, and he said he had some inside info. They had a right hand drive version at SEMA, and the Mitsu people took him out in it. He said it was awesome. Here is what he told me:

Besides 5mph impact requirements and Cali emissions, the EVO would be full power (260-270). He said they were supposed to be coming over sometime between June and December. He told me MSRP was going to be 25,000 to 28,000, but that if it were a limited edition release that dealers would try to jack that up by between 5 to 10,000 over sticker.

Add to that the MotorTrend article that said we're getting it 4th quarter with as much power as possible, the future looks very bright : )

The pictures of that EVO in so cal are very intruiging. I know that guy was yelling at the person taking the pictures, but I would have been like "Dude! This is an EVO VII!" And then I would have pestered him for more info ; )

Like I said. It's just my .02. I have my name on a waiting list too. How much are you guys putting down for a deposit?

One more thing (sorry). The fact that more than 3 people have said that the EVO VII will be unveiled at the LA auto show seems very, very good.

It was courtesy mitsubishi. Well, if they're dicking people around, there are plenty of other Mitsubishi dealers around.

ITs coming

The Evo is definately here. At a local rally in Los Angeles, the same EVO from SCC made it's appearance. One thing I can say for sure, it's a beauty!

Anyone thought about buying their EVO in another state. I have friends in Oregon. I wonder if I could buy one there. No sales tax. I wonder how that works. Anyone know?

That's definately something to look into....

Not only would that save a lot of $$$, but you'd have a hell of a nice road trip

No sales tax, but lots of a$$hole dealer markup. Try finding one that will agree to MSRP. If you do, please tell me who they are. Anyway, I don't think you can escape taxes by buying it in Oregon. You'll have to register it in your home state, and that's when they'll get you.

Talking deposit!

Ok guys.
Thank god i found this site today!!

OK i owned an Evo VI in Cyprus(Europe). The best thing that ever happend to me!

Its sold now and im living in New York now....
I have a $500 deposit on and Evo VII now in New york.
My dealer says that they had a meeting to discuss the Evo VII and that it will be here March 2002 with 265BHP....I put the deposit down before this meeting and they thought is was coming in August, he then phoned me back in November to tell me the new update. This dealer will be buying one for himself too so he is following up on all new news.. Price will be from $25000-28000.
As for the taxes, you can buy in another state with out paying taxes but you will pay taxes in the state you register the car in.
