***EVO = Child friendly?***

Afternoon fellas...

I plan on buying an IX. I did test drive an 05 MR, but failed to notice the back seat, as far as child seat anchors go. I was so excited I forgot to look. I would like to know if the back seat has anchors for a child seat, my son is 3 years old. I'm sure the IX will have em if the VIII does.

Thanks for your time fellas...

I have a 2.5year old and there is tons of room in the back. With my wife in the front, tv (walmart style) wraped around the pass head rest there is still room for the kid to kick her feet around. Pluss my kid says "boost boost". This has nothing do do with your question, but who cares

My son is 4.5 and has plenty of room. More than my Jetta.

Recaro even makes an adjustable child seat, available in the same blue sport cloth as the interior. Then all the kid needs is a fire suit and a crash helmet!!

Evo+Recaro Child Seat=Lucky Kid

The Graco base is in the back seat right now and I have a Recaro Start booster seat that's waiting for my son to weigh over 20 lbs.

You can get one on Ebay. Here are some recent sales http://tinyurl.com/6dyn2

My 5 yo and 3 yo boys loves to ride in the EVO. It's hard to get them to stop saying "go faster daddy" and "daddy drives faster then mommy". LOL

Also, housedj is right, the EVO has 2 sets of "LATCH" anchors for the rear seats or you can use the innermost anchors from each to place a single seat in the center. Additionally, the EVO is equipped with three anchors on the rear deck lid for the seat tethers.

BTW, I find the LATCH tie-downs hard to use in the EVO. In my wife's van, I just recline the rear seat back, hook up the LATCH tie-downs and raise the seat back to tension the tie-downs. With the EVO, this technique can't be used. Also, the seat cushion is so firm that I can't compress it very much to use the spring back to tension the tie-downs either. It takes me 15-20 min to install my 3 yo's seat correctly in the EVO and 2-3 min in my wife's van.

The point of my story is to just make sure you have enough child safety seats for your cars so that you don't need to remove the ones installed in your EVO.
