STi > EVO
who cares?!?!?!?! its just a magazine that does their own tests. i am tired of seeing all these sti vs evo or evo>sti and stuff like that. just put an end to this. who cares?!?!? its based upon your own decision. the two cars are very very similar in performance.
you're right. but you've come to the wrong board to state STI > EVO.
FUGGIT, you're come to the wrong WORLD to state STI > EVO.
hahahahaha

I dunno about you guys,
but after reading that

i've traded my evo in
thank god, too... i don't want to feel as though i'm not driving the best car available according to car and driver!

the Road & Track road test summary has the EVO VIII at 4.7 second 0 - 60 mph, and the STi in 4.8. Motor Trend got the EVO RS to do it in 4.4 seconds. Different drivers, different particular engines, different weather, etc.
The cars are pretty close in a straight line. The EVO handles better.

i agree with ppl who are saying "who cares?!" i personally don't. they're very close in performance. i was gonna get sti, but after reading reviews about the feel of the steering and quicker steering ratio and handling, i didn't even test drive sti. although i still think it's an awesome machine, but i bought what I thought was good for ME - Evo.
like someone mentioned, why continue these wars when we can rip on f-bodies and rustangs? btw, i still love the '98+ trans am, too bad they killed it off
it's really annoying when someone constantly brings this shiznit up because they need to feel better about their purchase or something, that goes for both sides too, cause some evo owners can be really ignorant ******.
what i'm more interested in, is how even FQ300 beat the murcielago on top gear by 0.1s (not much, but damn, a LAMBO!)
so go out rite now, drive what u bought and love it to death!

this STI vs. EVO is getting sooooo old man.
one mag says something and another mag will say something else.... bla bla bla.
whats funny is that you could have a porsche GT3 and still be slower than a Ford Pinto at the road course.... its more about the driver than anything... and 95% of you dont know how to drive so all you guys can blab as much you want about which car is faster...
but in REALITY it doesnt matter.
BP... out.

That's for sure. I try not to drive my EVO on the street very much for the following reasons:
1. I run 100 octane gas all the time, which is expensive and hard to find.
2. I run on Toyo RA1 R-compound tires, and I don't want to wear them out too fast, they are really for track use.
3. Now that I have the VIII wing on my car, a loud exhaust, and a huge, sooty tailpipe (runnin' rich), the car is a cop magnet.
So I drive my S4 to work and around town most of the time. But I gotta tell you, I am always looking for excuses to drive the EVO instead.
