MY EVO vs 03 COBRA
I have practically the same mods as you do. Minus the UK badge and I have a power enterprise air filter and greddy types bov. I happened to tempt a late model cobra a few months back and from a traffic role he was pulling on me (not hard) but he would have had me bad.
I honestly don't know what would happen if you were to do a launch though. I would imagine you would be ahead by a nose up until the 100mph mark and then it would be over.
However get the cams/injectors/cam gears and a street flash and you should own a STOCK Cobra...
btw - buy the alcohol injection and a retune and you'll own a '04 Z06 too...

Let's face it, if the rear wheel hops and spins freely at 6K RPM then grips when it drops then it ain't going to be pretty. I know a couple of people in the 10s with their Cobras and they go through half shafts like they're going out of fashion. Most hardcore drag racers switch to a solid rear end.
As far as the cars go, Ive actually DRIVEN BOTH hard, so I can speak from experience. A mildly modded evo will take the cobra from a standing start. Obviously. Now, since I don't see too many people running the "quarter" on 45 mph surface steets with traffic (at least i hope i wouldnt see that)...I would have to say a stage one evo would beat it from a reasonably short stoplight run. Now, highway run? the evo would lose...not get killed, but lose.
03/04 cobras are beasts....even stock. They will dyno 370+ at the wheels stock...even though they are only rated at 390 flywheel. When I test drove one, the dealer even told me 390 was a joke for these cars. One drive and I knew he was right.

Modified vs stock speculative thread racing is kinda pointless IMO.
Especially in this thread...since the chances of running into a stock 04 cobra is about as bad as running into a stock evo...

Also to clear things up. Im talking about a race from a dig on the street (closed road of course) The race would be up to about 100mph. Maybe this will clear some up. Honestly who races past 100mph... Thats not 2 fun for me.

Granted some people may not know what they are talking about, be serious the mustang is a Ford its not a supercar. It's not high-tech. It just muscle. I personally dont think it is a very impressive car. Yes i have drove one before, so i dont want to hear anyone B*itch this is my opinon

Given these conditions...id say its almost all up to the drivers involved. From an equipment standpoint, you prolly have an advantage.
I just noticed youre from Canton...I havnt met too many evo drivers from MI, just got mine a few months ago... PM me if you ever wanna shoot the *(&$ a little.

with equal drivers you would be ahead until 80mph, then they would pull the rest of the way, if you went up to 120+ you would be 5-8 cars behind, put sticky tires on a stock cobra and you would be ahead maybe to 30mph then bye bye.

New 03 and 04 cobras ran about 35k new when they were still on the lot. Verts were a little under 40 i think. A used 03 can be picked up in the mid to high 20's range.

I'm the same way. Who cares where it was built. I mean yes, the cars built by American workers are not put together as well due to American apathy, but for our purposes, they can all still go fast. I don't understand the hate between domestic and import owners. Many of us have owned both. I want a Cobra, I almost bought one, too. But I like AWD. I also REALLY want the new Z06 coming out.

Now when they tunne their car, then it's kind of even "FROM A ROLL ONLY" off the line you will brutally rape them if you know how to launch....... The problem with Cobras they break down after you modd them. My friend had one and he freaking screwed up the engine the Piston and rods snaped inside the engine. Just crazy....

Also, the differences in that Cobra in the video to a Terminator (internal Ford name for 03/04 Cobra) in order of apperance
#1 wrong rear spoiler (that's from a 99 or 01 Cobra) the 03 Cobra's spoiler is solid, that one you can see under it
#2 the head unit is 2 piece (seperate head unit and CD player) where the Terminator has a 6 disc in dash CD player that's integrated into the head unit..
