i was just driving through my overpacked, podunk coastal town, waiting at an intersection there are these three teenagers that are obviously super stoners, hat sideways, are struting down the sidewalk. i have my window down, and can see they are looking at my car, and as they get behind the car i hear one of them scream that i needed a BOV. WTF is that. is this really what our cars have come to? my car is in no way "RICE" so he wasnt being sarcastic, he really thought that i needed to have a VTA BOV to make my huevos look bigger or something. i wanted to beat all three of them back into the 80's but i had to get back to work, and traffic was a biotch. seriously though, why would anyone say that? do i have less of a car because i dont VTA my blow off valve? is the car really not cool unless you do? did these guy learn everything they know (obviously a very limited amount) about cars from a video game, or a movie? what is the world coming too? anyway, sorry i had to vent, maybe i will see them later. this happened only 5 minutes ago. does this happen to anyone else?

ps- i am not trashing anyone with a VTA, i just dont have one. apperantely that makes my car less cool to high school dropout wannabe cracker thugs.

that sucks. just brush it off. Something happened liek to me last ngiht too. I was just driving to the car show and some late 90's model camaro (all- beat up) was driving the other way but we were rolling like 3mph and as he passed my car he goes "Rice" I have a stock 350z track, i just dont see how its rice, but w/e, I thought it was funny though because he was the one in a beat up car.

well, you do have a BOV, it's the stock one, i switch between the stock and the type s just to have a change of pace sometimes, and if you have an intake, the stock one is pretty loud anyway.

 

yeah intakes make the BOV and turbo sound louder.

 

I just don't get why people get all tickled by the sound of of a VTA BOV. Great now your car sounds like it's sneezing every time you shift that adds to the cool factor. My car has allergies.

Seriously, I can kind of understand it but for something that adds no real performance and possibly causes idle issues which could cost more money to address (EIDS) Why?

Those kids were just some dumbasses that read "Stupid Street" I'm sorry "Super Street" and have no real idea what the hell they are talking about.

 

And as far as Evos being rice. I'm finding the majority of americans are starting to confuse rice with import. Kind of like how jap bikes are rice rockets, now japanese sports cars are rice. My girlfriend took the dog out the other day and got chatting with the neighbors, some how they got on the subject of my car. One neighbor described it as " you know that little black rice car" at which point my girlfriend chewed him a new ***. The guy just didn't know that rice is a derogatory term.
