Loud buzzing coming from drivers rear tire area
Today coming home from work I was in stop-and-go traffic for almsot an hour and a half. I had the drivers window down the while time. When I got home, I went to the mailbox and when I started my car up again, I heard a really loud buzzing sound coming from the back of the car. I got into my garage and could still hear it thru one or two cycles of turning the car off and back on.
I turned it on and went around to look for the sound. It sounds like it is coming from right behind the drivers side rear wheel. I took the rear seat off so I could hear if it is the fuel pump. I also turned the car in just AUX mode to start the fuel pump but not the car. It's not the fuel pump. This sound was buzzing while I was moving as well as stationary with and without the brakes on. I could even hear the buzzing over my Greddy Ti exhaust. it's that loud.
Anyone have any idea what this buzzing sound is? My evo is my daily driver and I can't be w/o it because work is so distant.

exhaust leak? If it was air from the tire, the tire would be visibly deflated by now, nor should the sound be that loud if it is air leaking. I wonder if it is air venting from the gas tank, or if the evap system is leaking, not sure what sense that makes.
Check for any loose lines, and stuff in that matter. Listen to where it is exactly coming from, and look around the area where its coming from for something not right. Ive never hear of anything like this, but if it wasnt so cold out id go take a look at my car and see whats in that area. * check exhaust, especially the flex section, when I had a tear in my flex section on my other car it sounded like a diesel truck.

Exhaust is on the other side of the car, and I don't have a flex section. I have a solid turbo-back. I guess possibly I could have blown out a gasket possibly. But that doesnt explain the loud buzzing while the car was still warm.

bump.
it came back today. Could the fuel filter possibly be right there? I turn the car to the ON position and no sound, I start the car and it's there. I got under the car and it sounds like it was coming from right around the gas tank area.

Its your fuel pump. I bet you have a walbro. Mine was so loud last weekend, you would think something was seriously wrong. Kinda sounds like a tire going flat/exhaust leak with a humming sound behind it. Relax, it's just your pump.

but it's not sounding when the car is in the On position (last click before starting the car) when the fuel pump should be on. Plus, this is a recent thing. I have had my walbro for almost a year now and this is the first incidence of it I have heard.
dead road kill stuck between your rear suspension maybe?
i would check the inside of your tires before checking anything else.
you may just have a worned out inside, which is hard to tell from any angle.

I don't think it is the tire (good suggestion though) because it makes the noise when the car is parked and just sitting in my garage. So the tires shouldnt be making any noise because it's not moving at all
