This is where the "Project Evo" from EvoM put it.

One quick question:

Do either of the locations see boost only (no vacuum)? I have a boost only gauge and don't really want to abuse the gauge by exposing it to vacuum.

I'd be concerned about introducing a leak to the FPR solenoid as that could potentially make you run lean.

I might just weld a nipple to the upper IC piping for mine.

Anything between the throttlebody and intake valves in the head will see vacuum. To have a gauge read only boost, you will need to tap in to something between the outlet of the intercooler, and the throttlebody. Closest to the throttlebody would be best. Get ready to drill and tap.

On the original topic:

I think some of you guys should really get a factory service manual and study the vacuum system of the car before you start messing with things. So much to be learned, one of which is how the FPR solenoid is used for cold-start warm-up enrichment. If some of you understood that simple concept (clearly outlined in the manual), there would no question of which line to use, and nobody giving misinformation on this issue.

You wouldn't cause a lean condition because no vacuum at the FPR closes off return to tank and raises the pressure. Hence the cold start enrichment mention just above makes sense. The solenoid cuts off vacuum to the FPR. Also the reason why, if you use the hose between the solenoid and the FPR you will not get a reading sometimes.
