Intercooler Question

I know that upgrading the I/C and I/C pipes will free up more air thus, making more power...

But, if I were to upgrade the I/C core into a bigger one, and still utilizing the stock turbo, would i lose power, or gain some turbo lag? Some FMIC's are "IDEAL for medium to high end performance, and are essential for upgraded turbos", does that mean I shouldn't be using it with the stock turbo?

from what ive been told, when you upgrade your intercooler to even a bigger one then what you already have. you have to upgrade your turbo to balance out the power. if you did get a bigger FMIC you would get sum turbo lag.

what if the core was a little bigger, but it was also faster flowing? don't those 2 offset each other?

i've been wondering this for a while now.

I have been looking into the Injen Intercooler, and I read somewhere that it states 14hp gain on most applications. I am just about ready to break out the funds and buy the Injen.

If you are plan to get a upgraded turbo soon buy one, if not then don't buy one the stock ic is more than good enough. I think it's a waste of money unless you have every other mod done already and just need something to buy.

yea ive been getting a lot of good feedbacks from people who have upgraded their IC core and piping, still using the stock turbo...

Does it depend on actual increase of size of the IC core whether it will be good or bad for a stock turbo?

I'm not upgrading my turbo anytime soon, but I'm currently looking for upgrades that will free up a lot of air...
