Help!!!!!!!intercooler Pipe Fell Off
As most you know my car was involved in an accident..after getting the car back I kept having an overboost problem..took it back to have a new wastegate installed...I left the shop 1st gear fine, shift to second..just as boost starts to come on I hear a loud bang and feel it at my feet and car dies! Luckily I was right next to the shop when it happend and rolled in...they started the car up ran like **** blowing black smoke out the muffler! shut it off popped hood and the intercooler pipe was off...put it back on ran like **** for a couple seconds then ran fine...gave it a little rev with some black smoke coming out...drove around the block car seemed to run fine..and smoke went away...could this have caused any internal damage? was the loud bang detonation?

the loud bang you heard was the pipe popping off. All the times my hoses popped off and no damage. I just keep a few rags and tools sockets and ratchet and screwdriver and flashlight. If you still have the undertray on get a stubby phillips screwdriver it'll make life easier. also adjust you clamps in front of the intercooler so you can reach them if you have to do a road side fix.
yep thier was also a fix told to me by malibujack he said something like u can use a small spray of some hairspray like aquanet and its kinda like a mild adhesive and will help hold it on.. but i sugest just getting a t-bolt clamp and wrenching it down will never happen again.. i have 2 of them btw

I know this sounds funny, but superglue works VERY GOOD holding couplers on the pipes. To get them off all you have to do is take a flat head screw driver and reem the inside of the coupler away from the pipe. Mine use to pop off when I ran 25psi at the track, but after using superglue I never had one pop off again. I read this in a tuner magazine AWHILE ago and it's been done plenty of times. You have to work quick though because as you know superglue drys WITHIN SECONDS. Hope this helps.
