I learned to drive stick on my EVO and I'm still on the original clutch at 33,000 miles with no problems.

The evo clutch isn't even stiff. My 2003 350z clutch is much harder to drive than an evo.

Learn on something front-drive so he can learn do deal with understeer. i liked my Sentra Spec-V to learn on. Good power, front HLSD and a 6-speed. Or maybe he should drive a Hachi-roku like Bunta.

Cheaper to learn on the Evo and then just replace the clutch. The cost of a clutch swap is less than the cost of buying some cheap car, fixing stuff on it, taking depreciation and then selling it later for less than you paid.

Try lookin at autotrader.com you can find some steals from people looking to get rid of their cars. You coud find an eclipse gs-t for that price with high miles, also some acura integras. You have good cars in mind, so try there.

I learned on a (I think) '92 Talon. I then bought a '93 Z. As easy as it was to shift in those cars, it's much easier to learn in something like an old Jetta.

Do you drive a car with a stick?

Ovbiously he COULD learn on the EVO, but he wants to play it safe, plus hes not ready to get the EVO now or else he probably would. He does need a car within the month tho, so he thought he might aswell get something that will "train" him for his EVO
