Question about boost

Just installed my boost gauge. Ive read that boost should spike to 19.5 and level off to 16. My boost is spiking at 21 and leveling off to about 16/17. Only mods I have are a 3 inch rnr catback exhaust, and an hks drop in filter. Cars running good, just making sure if this should be right.

That sounds normal. Get an MBC or EBC and an MR diverter valve to control the boost.

why would the diverter valve control the boost??/
i would think it may hold the boost better... but only if the stock one was leaking.
And the stock one should not leak at those pressures

With that kind of number, he might be experiencing leakage. It is a cheap and beneficial upgrade that will prevent that leakage, thus controlling boost better.

actually hold it for longer peroids of time...the stock does leak, that's why we get the 19.5 spike. He's just double checking whether his new meter is cause of the spike...

I say check your hosing...plus...where did you tap your "T"? There's been huge debates on where to put it...one place was where factory puts them, but the other place is suppose to give more accurate readings.

put it in the other place, the shorter line. It was a PITA to get the fitting to go on that small hose.
