I love the way Porsches look, Ferraris look, Vette's look, etc etc etc. But after owning the Evo and other budget oriented performance cars, I just can't see myself owning more than one exotic if I was ever a multi millionaire. It's just such a waste of money. I might get something like an S7 or Carrera GT or something else with (as discussed yesterday with joeycoates) PRESENCE. However, just for performance, I honestly have NO respect for a car that costs 4 times as much as my Evo yet offers no distinguishable performance advantage. Does it look better? Sure. Does it sound "cooler?" Sure. Does it go faster? No. And when I bought the Evo, that's all I paid for.

 

exactly my thoughts... If were scareing these chumps off then we did something right lol. Oh, just another thought, wait and see what happens when one of them stumbles onto the fq400 vs lambo video or heck the fq400 period. I would say buh bye little 996tt And that is a "stock" evo.

 

Well put.... i cant stand it how others are so damn cocky about thier cars like 150k buys them a new land speed record. Yeah it is fast. but can you go to the store with ur 966tt ? oh wait they prolly got a servant to do that for them =/
The thing that angers me most is when people talk about something they know nothing about. One guy on the forums said he would never drive that Rice rocket. =/

Ill be showing some up at the track this weekend. should be like 2 996TTs there. my friend walked him all over the track last month in his cat-back and intake only STi.

 

i really didnt mean for this post to be evo bashing, there are a lot of guys that respect the car and say so on the forums. I plan on personally buying one.

As a 996tt owner, i love the car, but i also have an s2000 and an audi. True car enthusiasts will like a car based on pure driving experience and performance, cost and manufacturer should play far less of a role.

 

oh, i forgot to mention posters on that thread were not some of the 6speed regulars!

Additionally, we all know, someone can always build a faster car with enough money.

I used to have a eg civic, stripped with b18c5 that would walk my s2000 all day and run with a stock evo and it didnt cost me $30K.

 

Ya know what it is, the true "car enthusiasts" on there respect the evo. Thats cool. Its the whiny little "i have alot of $$$ so that makes me cool cause i drive a porsche and thats the only way I get laid" crowd" That annoys me.

Not for nothing, Im no millionaire by any means and id bet that i could pull up to any country club with my "ugly girl" and bang most of those guys girls in the cabannas!! HAha!

Yeah, there are a lot of positive comments in there. You can tell who the real car guys are and who the losers who just bought a Porsche ONLY BECAUSE it's a Porsche - and they refuse to believe anything's better... Of course a lot of us are the same way

My dad's a huge Porsche guy. He lived in Germany and the 60's and he's owned 912s, 911s, a boxster and now a cayenne... His saying is:

"We used to beat them on the straights, then, when we couldn't beat them on the straights, we beat them on the curves. Then, when we couldn't beat them on straights or curves, we beat them in the looks"

 

With those snobby type people, it wouldnt matter if you left standing at a stoplight, blasted past them on a track, or killed their 1/4 time by a few seconds cause all they will say in response is "I'm not gonna push my car that hard, its not what I bought it for" Bollocks to those silly tw*ts! You wanna REALLY **** them off? Get yourself a Noble M12 and you can kill them in every realm of the car world, including the dashing exotic looks, and you still spent about half of what they did.

 

I like your attitude. Respect all cars for what they are, and try to know what each car actually IS rather than what your first impression and Ego tells you.

The guys on speed6 obviously don't understand this basic concept.

 

i mean, come on... talking sh!7 about the Evo is like this... my friend buys a brand new Civic Si, and I keep telling him how ugly it is compared to an Evo and how horrible it performs and such... that would make me an A$$h0l3 and everyone in the world should tell it to my face...

I hope I get rich someday and can afford a porsche or ferrari, but I'll still own Evos if they're still made!

 

I don't think comparing a 2-door coupe to a 4-door sedan in the looks category says much about that guys intelligence! It' a very poor statement.

I will say however that Porsche offers nothing in a 4-door sedan that can do what the EVO can. So there.

Oh, and Porsche's are notorious for costly maintenance anyway.
