Look at what us p-car guys are saying about the evo
I will be buying one in the next 6 months to see a lot of track use and modability wise for the money i cant even buy an exhaust for the 996TT for what a stage 1/2 would cost me. Gotta love the evo.

well i agree with alot of their opinions, the 966TT is actually pretty darn fast... it just costs a fortunate to upgrade it like any euro tuner car. evo is not the sleekest car out there nor is it the fastest but for the money, there is absolutely NO production street car that can even do what the evo does
I will say this, in order for an EVO VIII to keep up with say, a stock 996TT, the EVO needs to run about 25lbs of boost on the stock turbo. I raced one at the 1/4 drags here in GA, so I am rather familiar with their level of mods. They are quick cars, but like anything with Mitsubushi, the reliability leaves a little to be desired.
They handle very well, but die off above 100mph because of gearing/aerodynamics.

Yes the 996 TT is a fast car. Is it better looking than an Evo? Well the Evo wasn't exactly designed to have the best lines. What the 996 boys don't realize is that after the 993 TT Porsche started selling lots of TTs and the car has become much less exclusive. As the 996 starts to age it is going to lose value quickly.
You will be able to afford on soon enough Kwman!
BTW -- I looked seriously into buying a 996 years ago after I sold my 993. It has a really plastic interior and gives you a mass assembled feel. I don't think that it is any better than the Evo in this regard. Any Porsche 911 purist will agree that the 996, although fast, lost it’s sole when Porsche started upping production and bringing down costs.

Lol to completely different cars and price ranges.....to tell you the truth im happy with my evo and shame on them for talking sh** ...i have an evo but that doesnt mean i have to go around talking sh** on like all the hondas and acuras.....people buy what they want because they can afford it or its what they like....screw them rick f*** haha
Somebody made a comment in there that is very true. It seems that only American Porsche owners are the only group of owners who are complete arrogant snobs. Porsche owners from Europe (especially England) don't look down on cars like the Evo the way that the American owners do; they tend to respect them for what they are. Most of they guys on the forum are ignorant snobs with a holier than thou attitude. It's funny how that 1/4 mile guy was bashing on the Evo yet he drives a Pinto 
.
But, who cares? We know what our cars can do. We know the plus and minus aspects of owning the car. We also know that most of those cocky Porsche owners would be in our rear view mirrors fading in to the distance at the track.
