Great pictures!
Did anyone notice the wheel weights on this evo?
Why did they pound those weights on those beautiful wheels.
The finish has got to be damaged under the weights.
Why not use "tape weights"??????
I hope my evo does not have those weights on it when it arrives

First time posting here, I don't come here very often, but like many of you, the EVO is my dream car, and although I'm fortunate enough to see tons in person when I go back to HK for my hols, nothing really beats seeing it on American soil.

LOL, I live 2 mins away from Mitsubitshi Motors, borderline Cypress/Anaheim/Buena Park...in fact, I drove past it 3 times today? {EDIT} Mitsubishi Motors is 3 blocks away, about 5 mins, ok so it wasn't 2 mins like I said...according to mapquest.com =)

I wouldn't mind riding in an evo 8 when you get it, you don't mind giving a ride to strangers? =)

I noticed that this one was either someone's or a test model. It has soot on the exhaust pipe and the tires had clear signs of being driven.
Well if thats true this guy isn't that smart since he's forgotten to remove the spring restraint that's fitted to the car.

That's a nice looking car. The Brembos are beautiful.

However, your DSM is a much better looking car.

Do you think that the spring restraint was used to raise the car to make it legal for the bumper height regulations? The car seems to sit a little higher than the EVO pics on the mitsubishi website. Especially in the front.

From what I know, those spring retainers are put onto the cars for shipping. It helps to keep the car from bouncing around while strapped to the delivery trailer....not sure if it's the case with the Evo though....

True, true, called "packing bumpers" so the suspension doesn't compress when the car is tied down. Basically locks the suspension solid. I can imagine the guy driving it like that saying "man o' man wasn't kidding when they said this thing rides firm "
