Put it out there for $32 and see if someone about to buy an Evo 8 wants it. Better to shoot high and negotiate then shoot low and sell it for what you ask for.

I've always had luck selling stuff with a reasonable FIRM price. I think 30 firm would sell. IMHO. Others may like to negotiate, but that just isn't me. like when i bought my car i told them what i could pay, and that is my only offer. They screwed around for a couple days trying to call and make rebuttal offers, but they finally called with the right numbers. I like the firm approach.

i think i'll be listing it for $31K OBO. i don't want to hose anyone trying to get an Evo. really hoping that is a fair price to ask for an MR. hopefully, i'll have time on saturday to take a few pics while the sun is out and i'll do an official posting in the For Sales section. i'm also going to make the machv open house this saturday if anyone might be interested. maybe even stop by carmax and see what they offer...
hiheatevo - thanks for all comments, oh, btw, i'm a fellow rider as well. been riding since 1997.

good luck. i love riding my bike on nice days. I used to ride it no matter what. Now that I have my evo i only ride when it is nice and forecasted good weather. Although i may go back to riding it more often since frickin gas is getting so expensive.

i'm feeling that there is a mixed feeling. may i get some feedback as to how much to put mine up for (as a benefit to the purchaser and the seller)? i obviously would like to get the most out of it, but i also don't want the purchaser to have a sour experience with me or the sale.

btw, forecast shows rain through the whole weekend. still trying to find time to take nice pics of the mr.

...if you're getting into trouble I don't think it's the car's fault; maybe you should sell the driver.

Seriously, consider keeping it and save the fast stuff for track time, Autocross, etc. There is no guarantee that getting a different car is going to help this "problem".

not to bash, but just to reply.

i do keep things under contraol on the street. i (knock on wood) have not received a ticket since 1999 and i'm actaully a current applicant for a police agency in my area.

i actaully maintain myself until i'm on a track of some sort (ie. autoX, Driver Education... on a local track that is). i normally maintain a 5 to 10 mph above speed limit with the occasional heel-toe at entrance/ exit ramps, but promptly go back to speed.

nothing for nothing - but my history of cars consists of Audi TT (Tuned) autoX car, Saleen S281SC, Camero SS (SLP'd), Audi RS6, Porsche 911 C4S (where the name came from - C4S to (2) MR), Cayenne Turbo. None of which have i ever had as much profiling than the MR. i've recently been on a ride along and the officer was commenting on all the "Ricers" and the "Fast and the Furious" cars.

Don't get me wrong, the Evo (MR) is a great car and that's what i chose it for. i just didn't realize that it is a main target for law enforcement. i was planning on heavily modding it and using it as a track car. i was waiting to hit 10K miles before i was willing to lose the warrenty and take on the track, but recently a lot of "aftermarket" cars are starting to get pulled over. i've been stalling on working with the car to see if things loosened up a little and it hasn't. my brother recently got pulled over for a ticket on exhaust (VA code requires you to have an OEM like exhaust), which allows officers to basically pull over any aftermarket car. again, not the burden i'm currently looking for.

By all means, please do not take this as anything other than me explaining myself.
