the s2k's tranny is garbage i have a friend that owns one and every frikken synchro is out. also my uncle works at honda and he told me the same. besides that in my opinion, i dont dig 2 seaters if i had to get one it would be the new corvette, now thats worth losing a back seat.

To get your answer, you need to drive the car! I was once in your shoes and ended up with the Evo. I test drove the Sti and the S2000. The driving of the vehicles answered my question.

ive driven the 2004 s2000 many many many times, and yeah its a fun car, with a REALLY nice tranny (smooth as ****), and the convertable top it attractive. but imo, it takes more of a skilled driver to actually get the best out of it than the evo. didnt like it when the tail would come loose whenever i took a sharp turn from a stop or going really slow, or that i had to wait till 5500rpm to feel any power whatsoever, or that it had no back seat, or that it was small and cramped, or the digital tachometer (i like the speedometer), or that the speakers are real crappy. besides, the 2004's redline is only up to 8000 rpm, but they raised the displacement to 2.2 litres. its a nice car, love the VTEC, but when i drove the evo, it gave me a rush that i never experienced in the s2000. SO GO EVO!

without doubt... Evo... S2K killed me from the get go... i'm 6'2" 220+, and i couldn't fit in it, let alone heel-toe it... don't get me wrong... air in your face is fun, and it's a fun car overall... but, there's something about a 4-door Econo-****-box from hell that's the most fun in the world... Out of both, equal drivers, Evo still wins on the tracks and backroads...

evo is a lot more practical for sure. s2000, i almost got, but it's like one of those cars for weekends when the weathers nice car.

I've driven a SC s2k boosting 6psi at the drag strip (don't ask) and honestly, it takes aways from vtec kick with the SC on it.

shifter is a lot better in s2k, but overall, it's really uncomfortable in s2k vs EVo.

EVo's by far the most comfortable (besides my volvo 960, 97) and fast overall car I've ever owned.

Comfort is hard to find in a big sedan.

I just don't like people saying on here, "yeh, evo is better." without giving a reason. what the hell is that?

Dude,

Just drive both and choose one. I own both and honestly if it comes down to getting rid of one, it would be the Evo.

Yeah the s2k is not as easy as the evo to drive and that is the rewarding part of it. If you're fast in it, you know that it is your own skills and not the car's. As far as the tail end coming out on tight corners, I would say that any rear wheel drive cars that you get on the throttle too soon in a tight corner will behave the same.

S2k = Pure, fun, fast and handles like it is on rail. It will punish you hard if you make a mistake but the limits are extremely high. Not the car to push hard on the streets. It commends a lot of respect in the street.

Evo= Fun, not pure, Fast and handle like it is on rail. You can drive this car like an idiot and it will not punish you. Easier to drive hard on the streets.

s2k vs. evo

I own both as well. The evo is definitely more forgiving, the s2k demands a smooth touch on the controls; very rewarding when driven at the limits My s2k is up for sale, it's been dyno'd at 610 whp on race gas, 500 on pump gas. Featured onn the cover of November '04 modified mag. Listed in autotrader under 98516 zip code. pm if interested

Get the stook... it's a blast to drive, and a better weekend car than the evo. Cheaper too, if you are looking at used cars.
