M3, G35 coupe(had one and it was OK, def a head turner), Cadillac CTS V

any one of those would be hot ****. And BMWs are GREAT cars, have had 2 of them. I don't know what texas is talking about, but mine never gave me problems(besides the 10 dollar oil filter, LOL)

Used Porsche 911 C2. Light (2900 lbs), decent power (02's have 320 hp), great looks, and a driving experience that is unparalleled by any other sports car in the price range.

Been there done that and every now and then will still go out and test drive a car or two thats a little easier on the back and more accepted at the work place (my car sets off tons of car alarms at work when I leave), I'm always thinking about getting rid of the Evo for something a little more professional but in my quest for acceptance amongst the uptown crowd I seem to be asking a little too much from the other auto makers. I haven't driven anything (that I can afford) that's impressed me enough to get rid of my Evo. So I'm left with the idea of just taking my wing off to blend in and look a bit more professional. Plus it's almost paid off which makes it even more difficult to get rid of.

I'm also in the same situation since someone will be buying my Evo in about 2 weeks. I plan on purchasing another Evo but the thought of going "upscale" keeps crossing my mind. I came from a 2003 Audi A4 1.8T Quattro which was nice at first but went downhill from there. I was looking at the G35 and the 350Z. They are both nice cars but I'm sure I am going to miss my Evo when it comes to power and handling. As of now, I am still leaning towards getting another Evo.

you can pick up a used 1999-2002 porsche 911 with fairly low miles for under right around 45k. Thats what i would do if i could.

Screw professional. I am well over 40 and in upper management at a Fortune 100 company and I just bought an MR for my daily driver. I bought the evo because I can't leave well enough alone and this looks like a fun car to modify. Building an 11 second sedan with AWD will keep me content for a while.

I just drove a friend's brand new Volvo S60R and that's what I'd get in your situation. Like the Evo, it has 4 doors, turbo, and is AWD, but it is way more "professional" looking and more comfortable to drive with the electronic suspension set on the softer settings. It even looks cool, for a Volvo. Right around your price point, too.

This is proably the best option so far other than an M3. my votes goes to the CTS-V

Nothing wrong with Audi. Had my MY2000 S4 (B5, twin turbo) from new, chipped from day one plus a few other basic mods (320 hp, 365 lb/ft torque) and never put a foot wrong in 40k miles.....apart from replacing the wiper blades One of the best cars I've owned and better than the 996 C4 that preceded it.
