what if you are in the right lane of a dual left turn lane? if you use your left turn signal, does that mean you are turning left or changing lanes?

 

In my part of Texas, indicator usage is purely at the discretion of the driver. You use them or you don’t, no one cares not even the cops apparently. I was behind a Colleyville cop car the other day and he didn’t use his either. You have to stay alert here though, a lot of dumb-asses will go straight when they are in a turn-only lane.

 

Cops have been decent to me... I've been tailed after getting on my car for a little while entering the freeway at night, but never pulled over for anything stupid. I did get pulled over the day after my paper plates expired when I got the car. He asked me if it was stolen... Then let me go . A cop while walking to his car in a parking lot did get confused by my turbo timer though.

 

tell him it was on and fight it. simple.

if for some reason the jagoff brings in his dashboard cam video as evidence just say that it's evidence that has to be brought up in a "discovery" period, both sides have to know what "physical evidence" will be brought it. That way he can't show it in court and its your word against his. If the judge does let him bring in his dashboard video, then appeal it because you weren't given a fair trial. in the next trial, the DA will prolly just drop it and not pursue it anyway.

 

Man, after reading this thread Im thinking about taking off my spoiler or working harder to sell my car. From what I gather after reading all your stories is two thigs:

1) Cops have low self-esteem outside of work and any chance they get to make themselves feel important they'll take (ie pulling people over just because they can)

2) A LOT of the laws in the different states are idiotic. I really like the one about being required to signal if you're in turn only lane. If Im in that lane, Im obviously turning so by not signaling, I didnt confuse anyone.

Here's a story for you guys. Two months ago I got a ticket for passing a yellow. Luckily, they didnt pop my hood or anything but it was still an anoying ticket.

Flashback 3 months before that, my buddy and I were driving in his 67 camaro. We got off the freeway and he past a stop sign. Out of nowhere we get pulled over and the cop is like "You guys were doing 85 in a 65, you past someone on the right and you didnt stop at the stop sign". Now if that was me in the Evo, I would have had the book thrown at me but since it was an american car, the cop let us go.

 

cops do suck, there just jealous haha
