what can we say besides telling you to wait until your older, besides the higher chance you'll destroy it, i would wait til 24 to get ANY kind of sports car (which is what i did)....patience does has its rewards...
i dont know why kids are working their *** off to barely afford the evo, the price tag of the car is only the beginning, maintenance is super expensive. geez thats $800 a month for a teenage to own an evo, thats insane.... for that money i could own an m3 easily...
oh well hope your mommy and daddy is willing to help... i genuinely give u a "good luck"

yeah jus get an OZ or an ES..... turbo it up... you'll be handing out *** on a platter to those civic hatchback's down there in florida.... Or be like me... Save for the Evo 10... you'll be of age by then with better payments and insurance!
Ah, so you're a HS kid...that explains everything now. I now understand your earlier posts/response.
$15/hour working at a frame shop in HS? I'm sure. $5/hour raise? Uh huh. You make less in a month than I spend on my house per month, yet you plan on buying an evo? The insurance alone is more than you can REALLY afford, but whatever. I pay just under $150/month for my MR and a Lexus GX470, but I'm 29 and have USAA.

Around 180 a month. the car is legally mine as i paid for more than 70% of it but the trick is to list your dad or someone older as the driver of the evo. I am listed under the ford tauras but I drive the evo. No tickets/accidents helps a lot as well.
BASICALLY: I am 17 but if i had to go through this whole process again i would have drove a beater civic and built my own racecar for the track! This car is really really expensive for me to maintain properly (mods, oil, gas, tires TIRES OH THE HUMANITY) I have loved the evo ever since i was about 5 but you have to be careful for what you wish for! I love this car to death dont get me wrong but since we are this young spending money on education would seem more sensible.

I bet you're wondering why I don't have my evo anymore?

And before someone gives me the "how could you afford that" crap:
I had the evo a year before my insurance rates doubled (was 3600 a year), basically the insurance company had "rate increases" across the whole board and I got moved into a "new" category called: "Rape you long time."
I had the evo paid for in 14 months. I saved 5 years to put a dp on a new car when I turned 18, thus why I was able to afford it. Today I still wish I had the evo, cause I was better off with it, instead of a different vehicle+insurance.
Getting rid of the evo was the dumbest thing i've ever done, especially since financially I was better off with it. Oh well, I can't change the past.
Edit: Forgot to add. My next evo is going to be un-insured, gutted, and pure race inspired. Street illegal as hell =) Saving for it as we speak lol.

I tried selling an EVO to a 16 year old kid once. His mom was like "he has never driven before, would this be a good first car" I advised against it. The parents bought him an EVO from another dealer and he crashed it in less then 6 months.
