Ohio race sum up - Evos beat the STI's - big time !
I think the STI tuning world needs a serious wake up call
Its been 7 months since the 1st WRX vs. EVO Shootout at Raceway park . . . . .
The Evos got faster with 5 (FIVE) Evos in the 10's
Buschur shop evo, Curt Brown, AMS, Daevo tuning and My own Dyno Flash Evo 8
Two STI's bearly broke into the 11's - it seems they are getting slower, not faster
After a few passes of time trials - all the WRX's lined up in the staging lanes for the heads up WRX vs. EVO class started to realize they were info a slaughter and they all moved over to the bracket class except for two brave souls who were disapatched in the first round.
I love those WRX's - and STI's but the tuners of those cars need to wake up and get to work
Its a shame to see so many guys with so many mods and parts going so slow
As for the evos - some notable events
Curt Brown breaks the stock turbo record with a 10.9 something ! Amazing
Buschur Shop Evo goes 10.9 with STOCK Wheels and tires - outragous
AMS goes 10.006 fisrt time out with new set up and nos
MY CAR goes 10.18 @ 141.8 with full interior - full Buschur exhuast and NO nos - that alcohol kit really helps you on the track - even with race gas due to the intercooling effect
It was a great race - hopefully those WRX's will have more game for us in August at www.racewaypark.com for the 3rd WRX vs. EVO shootout
If I have to we will make the evos run on 3 cylinders to make it a race (jokes)
Seriously - the STI tuners have work to do !

hmmm, let's see, the Evo has been around with basically the same motor for years and there are loads of off the shelf goodies to choose from that even a home mechanic can throw on and get big numbers.
stack all that Evo tuning experience / knowledge against the STi and its US only motor and ~2 years of tuning experience and i'd say it's a pretty uneven battle at this point.
which is one of the reasons why i went with the Evo!!!

The parts are there for STI's and they have an inherently torque building motor.. and 1/4 more displacement. Please no excuses... so many fans of WRC also turned to the evo for their street car since it still has a 2.0 not like the STI with its 2.5.

so every couple months there is going to be another wrx evo shootout?
and is it just the base wrx models or are some stis there as well?
I think the WRX is just ugly, like an ugly girl. Ugly girls arent going to preform well for you becuase you know they are just ugly. Same with the car, it's ugly and weather it has the capabilities normally, the uglyness just ruins it.
