I have the Beltronics RX65 and love it!!! All the below info is from: http://www.radarbusters.com/
New "POP alert" detection scheme provides the fastest response to this latest Ka speed measurement device
· Software Upgradable enables the unit to be re-programmed for new technology from law enforcement
· 360 Degree Protection enables the detector to detect threats front, rear and to the side
· New Threat Display tracks multiple radar signals and their relative signal strength · New AutoScan mode virtually eliminates false alarms
· New Easy-to-Use Programming allows you to customize up to 7 options for your specific driving style
· New Ku-band detection for European travel
· Tech Display provides numeric frequency of any radar signal
· 3 Power-On Indicator Modes including voltage meter mode
· 3 Signal Strength Meter Modes provide optimum flexibility in tracking alerts
· 3 City Modes optimize selectivity
· Shadow Technology ® provides complete immunity to the VG-2 detector-detector
· Total Tracking Laser ensures superior off-axis coverage and widest field-of-view · Compatible with LaserPro 905
Quiet, Advanced and Versatile

The BEL RX65 is the most advanced radar, laser and safety detector ever designed by Beltronics.

The BEL RX65 includes full X, K, SuperWide Ka, and Safety Warning System radar capability, front and rear laser detection, digital signal processing (DSP) for superior range and reduced false alarms, our patented Mute and AutoMute, audible and visual band alerts, and all the performance you'd expect from Beltronics.

Four selectivity functions virtually eliminate false alerts, and Threat Display, a sophisticated means of tracking multiple radar signals, coupled with Digital Voice Technology, keep you informed like no other detector on the market.

Of course, you can trust BEL's proven ability to outperform where it counts most - industry leading sensitivity to today's low-powered traffic radar guns

Radar Roy's
Badge Rating Without question, the best detector Radar Roy has ever tested!

This newest detector from Beltronics comes with voice and with Ku band for European radar bands. Outstanding detector, good POP detection on K and Ka bands.

- Radar Roy5 B A D G E S

The Valentine 1 is an excellent unit with excellent range and filtering. The big drawback in our opinion is the price as it costs $399.00 and does not detect POP3 radar guns at all! In our testing, the Escort 8500 outperformed the Valentine 1 in range and filtering.

Alright...comparing the X50 to the V1 is like comparing angelina jolie to halle berry. You'l do quite well with either one! Just pick one and don't look back.

Well, they will not help you with the "instant on" radar. The cops will watch you and make a judgement about your speed. If they think you are speeding, they'll shoot their KA radar at the last minute and you are toast! Same thing with the Laser, ifr they ever clock you with it, you are toast.

The radar detector works if you use it wisely and also if you use all your senses and all your skills too. The detector will alert you if an "instant on" radar is used on someone else ahead of you or if the radar gun is left "turned on" all the time. Sometimes cops drive around with their radar turned on or wait hidden with their radar gun turned on.

The laser is practically undetectable in time. I guess that maybe the laser used on someone ahead of you will trigger your alarm and you can take corrective action, otherwise forget it.

I've found out the hard way that if you speed, you'll eventually get tickets. I use the Passport 8500 and I think it helps. I also drive slower than I used to, watch out for brake lights ahead, never lead if I speed, etc. Still, your best defense is careful driving and avoid speeding

Radartest.com will help you make your decision. It compares the Valentine 1, Escort 8500, and Beltronics models.

I went with the Escort 8500.

I still stand behind the Bel RX65 or the Escort 8500 X50.

Just so you all know, IMO based on overall performance, the RX65 did better than the 8500 X50 on 2 out of 3 websites.

So I would dub the BEL Pro RX65 better. Im not saying the 8500 X50 is a POS, but the facts are written in black and white. The X50 only truly seems to surpass in the VG-2/Spectre tests. Thats it. Overall, it appears the RX65 is bettah!

I don't believe the cordless models (of any brand) are as good as the corded ones....

I bought my Passport 8500 on EBAY for around $280 a few years ago.... You can test drive the V1 for free and return it if you don't like it (I tried it and returned it)

Oh yeah, I'm curious about the Bel RX65.... I've read good reviews about it but I don't have the $300+ burning a hole in my pocket right now...

Ditto, that's what I have in my evo and nothing beats the 8500 with the zr3 shifter. I would like to see your precious V1 actually jam a laser signal. By the time you V1 sees it you are cought.
