Hopefully your right. I've read the car and driver and i've found that artile pretty nasty. THere was so many but U.S. doesn't have it and estimate 5 sece but we think 5.4 0-60. Bunch of stuff that pisses me off! But people probably read and believe not knowing what the car is about. DId you read that?

The Mitsubishi web site states less than 5 seconds.
What is going? The mags are saying it is 10% slower to 60.
That seems like quite a difference. Do the mags test them on Mt. Everest on a hot day? 10% percent is a huge difference.

I was sifting through all the 0-60 numbers from various Euro magazines. Both Car and EVO have the Evo VII at 5.0-5.3 and that includes the FQ300 so Road and Track and Car and Driver probably aren't that far off since ours is only 271 hp. I have yet to see any 0-60 numbers under 5.0 sec for the Evo 7 from any car mag. Only the RS Sprints and Evo Extremes were able go under 5.0 secs.

I would've thought this poll would have more than 48 replies on it. How many preorders do you think there are from this site? If only 48 (hypothetically) from here preodered, then that's less than 1% of the member base.

There must be a lot of quiet people that aren't answering this poll... or there aren't really that many preorders from this site.

In all reality, it doesn't seem like there are many more than 50 or so individuals who post to the Evo forums on a regular basis.

Sure doesn't seem that way when the specs are released Jan 3rd. Everyone already knows their ship date so i'm sure everyone will come posting after their cars arrive.

I would have to believe that 0-60 is less than 5 secs. If not, they are looking at a lawsuit on their hands. This would be like when the other manufacturers stated the HP and they were actually lower. The same would be for . This would be false advertising.

To s4awd and any others, Motor Trend tested the Evo 7 last year and got 4.3 0-60 and 13.1 1/4 mile. You can probably find it on recent issues where they have the archives in the back of all the cars that were tested.

Here is a link on Motor Trend's site with those test results. From what I remember the one they test drove was a euro spec Evo VII.

As far as arrival dates I don't have my deposit in yet but one dealership called me at the end of last week for me to come put my deposit down. They claimed the cars would be in by the end of the month (feb).

Hailz!

Yes, there are only about 2 dozen "rabid posters" and maybe 3 dozen additional "occasional posters" which leaves about 6000 Lurkers.

So, the 50 orders seems about right to me. Most of the people who will buy the US EVO don't even know this website exsists. We always seem to overstate our own importances.

PS..I put myself in the "occasional poster" camp.

I only bothered to find this site after i had ordered my car. I don't post much(cause i don't have much to say)but I read all active threads everyday. Most people are probably to scared to post after they see what everyone says to the newbies.

I am sure more people will post when they start breaking their EVO's. I will be posting with tech questions for sure.

My dealer says he is getting 4 and has solid money on only 1 of them. It takes a very special customer to buy one of these, you either have to be an idiot and your parents bought it for you, or you have to REALLY love cars, know EXACTLY what you are doing AND have a lot of spare coin. It is going to be interesting to see what the more rural dealers are going to be doing with them...small town USA typically only has maybe 1 or 2 guys even remotely interested in the car.
