Underhood Bushings and Weighted Shiftknob
I got my Greddy weighted shiftknob and installed my brass underhood shifter cable bushings last night.
I immediately felt improved feel when shifting. I'm very happy with the result of the cheap simple mod. I might do the in-car bushings sometime as well, but since you have to take the center console off, I'll wait unil I have another reason, so I can do it all at once.
I bought both from lancershop.com, that place has become my #1 place to throw money lately.

Just be careful the bushings have been known to seize up. Causing your shifter to not move correctly. Have seen it personally twice now.

I used the Kartboy underhood bushings... made out of hard plastic, which might be better since i heard the brass ones seized up on some people.
I used some Ebay brass base bushings and bought a shortshifter from Ebay, also...same "quality" as the Lancershop ones... they all work pretty well together.

I have underhood and shifter bushings and had a problem about a month and a half ago when a joint near the underhood bushings seized and I needed 2 hands to shift the car into reverse. The dealer took care of it under warranty by removing it and relubracating everything.

I've got the Kartboy shifter bushings and the "under hood" linkage bushings. I had done some reading around here about the seizing problems and asked Tom at Kartboy about it; He said he had never heard of it with his bushings, but if it made me more comfortable I could use some white lithum grease to lubriate them during the install. I've had them in for about three months now, also with the Greddy Counterweight knob, no problems what so ever, and greatly improved shifting feel. (Although it did take some finagaling to get the under shifter bushings in, as they were a little to big to sit in the shifter carrige holes correctly.)
Anyone tried the upgraded clutch cables? Does it provide a noticable difference in the clutch feel?
