One of the earlier models. I know, I was shocked when I saw it. Sam Mitani, one of Motor Trend's writers tested it. He usually tests foreign cars such as the Evo. My guess is he probably got right amount of rpm and wheel spin. He must have spun the engine pretty high. That is the only time I saw an S2000 break under 5.

I also have a long commute, and even with the top up the noise can be unbearable at times. For those reasons...4 doors, leather, HIDs, and a sunroof are a must!!!

I am not your typical EVO owner....ie. snot nosed barely out of highschool McD's working punk. I have a very good job, a large three car garage for my toys and a family.

People on this site need to grow up. Makes me think I should reconsider the EVO so that I don't have people looking at me like I am one of you *******s.

As for the S2000 being a girls car...well, lets see if you can keep up from a roll or in the twisties! (Yes, it is modified).

For those mature members...I envy your ride and hope to join the ranks when the 9 hits the shores. To the rest of you...go flip some more burgers!
I think what you would find if you met 90% of us EVO owners in person we would be cool people. On the forums everything is always different.

Hit takes a lot of practice to launch the S2000. The best 0-60 I have seen in person was 5.1sec. But, get it out of first and into VTEC and the car will haul *** with the best.

I don't think 4.9 is possible on street tires or without some mods.

I am sure you are correct. It just seems that there are a lot more immature comments from "kids" on this site versus...say my350z.com or s2ki.com.

Believe what you want...I have it in black and white. Besides, if you have seen 5.1, wouldn't you think that 4.9 is possible? It is only 2 tenths of a second. The person who got the 5.1 could probably launch or shift better.

Isn't it funny how the original post was about someone getting an Evo with leather. Now it has become an S2000 defense thread...and I'm an Evo owner! Just goes to show not all Evo owners are self centered.

The magazines have magical testers that at most times are impossible to replicate. Motortrend tested a stock Mitsubishi Ralliart at a 14.9...this is impossible as modded Ralliarts still are low 15's. My point exactly.

Anyone to say the S2000 is slow or not a great car must be living under a rock. If you have selfish opinions you should leave them to yourself unless someone is directly attacking you. The S2000 is in a similiar class of speed as the EVO. Face it.

Thumbs down

yeah and I have read anywhere from 5.3-4.72 0-60 times for the evo. And yes, they were in black and white.

Exactly! Fastest times for Evo I've seen is 4.5. A long term one did 4.6. And I don't know why you are giving me the thumbs down...you drive the same car I do.

Thanks to those that gave a positive post. I just wanted to let you all know that I thought the EVO was better looking in leather.

I must say, it is for selfish reasons that I like the leather. My younger brother has 05 Sti and rags on me night and day about wanting to trade in the S2000 for an EVO. He thinks the Sti is the better car and really hates the EVO interior, so when I saw the leather in person I knew I could shut him up for good. Both with the look of the leather and on the track! Yes I am a Scooby HATER. Sibling rivalry will do that!

I love the STi as well. I just don't like how you can bend the hood scoop and spoiler. I saw one at a Subaru dealer and was able to do that!
