I hate leather interior. It looks horrible when it cracks and its more for a luxury car not a performance car like the Evo. The swade recaros are cloth and swade for a purpose. To hold you in the seat around corners unlike leather which you will slide around in.

There is no way in hell the S2000 is near close to 4.9s 0-60mph. Remember, the first company to launch a supercharger got 100whp plus using a comptech Supercharger with their own water cool intercooler. When they test it it was really pathetic, nearly 300whp and they only got a 13.7@103 mph.
The stock 225's aren't capable to perform well due to traction issues. The s2000 performs mediocre when tehy tested agaist the nissan 350z, BMW z4 3.0 and boxter S.
The new s2000 are close to a 6 second(0-60mph) cars and a low to mid 14 s 1/4 mile.
I got the SSL package because, like the original poster, felt the leather made the interior look much nicer and more "mature" without losing any grip. The front leather recaros hold you as well as the cheap looking cloth seats. bottom line, different people put different values on these things. that's why there are different options to choose from. just be happy with what you got.
it just seems like there are more and more immature posts on this forum compared to 4 months ago.....
when i was here for the first time 98% of the posts are not flamers / haters / racists / idiots / immature peoples..
definitely not good

The dealership didn't want to budge on retail for the MR so I went to another one where I knew the sales manager and they had a Silver 05 with the Leather/sun/sound/HID package. That car I was able to get much closer to invoice price so I went for it. The leather seats offer excellent grip so far and honestly everyone that's seen the interior loved the leather. The package normally adds $3000 to the price but it compared better to the MR since I was able to talk them down from retail and was several thousand less expensive. I know that my car is slightly heavier than the rest but so far I haven't noticed any problem putting the power down in stock form.
too bad all that leather is a really heavy addition to the car
even so i plan to add the leather to my MR sometime down the line. maybe the evo 9's leather package. the new recaros look gorgeous.

I like the look of leather. However, I don't like the feel of it so much. We bought the wife's Maxima SE with the leather, 6 speed, and almost all the options. We forgot the main one... Heated seats, in the winter those seats are brutally cold, freeze you a$$ off they will.... Also, in the Maxima the 6 speed is a pita, should have gotten the automatic. Anyway, I love the cloth Recaros in the EVO VIII and in my MR (there are identical). They fell great no matter what the weather is like.

Well I bought the S2000...and have loved every minute of it. Especially with the great weather here in Las Vegas.
Now I have two kids and it is time to be more practical. In other words, we need a second car that can tote the kids when schedules take us in different directions.
I went by the dealership today to take a look at the EVO...WOW what a difference the leather interior makes. I personally believe the MR is a waste of money. Furthermore, I need a sunroof since I spent the past two years with a convertiable. I'll go crazy with a solid roof. I also have loved the HIDs on the S2000. So it is a plus that they will be part of the package.
Conclusion, the leather/stereo/sunroof package on the 8 is perfect for me. I just could not believe how nice the interior looked with the leather interior. Really adds to the overall look and helps hide the incredible amount of cheap plastic used. In my opinion it makes it better than the Sti interior. Two thumbs up to Mitsu for allowing the option!!!
Now I just have to wait until the 9 is available.

Although like I've said before I think the cloth looks pretty nice. I'm lazy and leather is easier to clean/clean up.
