In a word CRACK. First off. The M3 weighs over 3400 lbs. So get off your crack pipe. Secondly, yes the M3 is a great handling RWD car. But like the NSX when pushed to the limits it falls short. The differences between them all is marginal but I've always seen the Supra come out ahead when equally skilled drivers are behind the wheel. I think too many people place the Supra in the straight line category due to it's enormous HP potential. But it's a very worthy track car. Just look at the Ultimate Street Car challenge and Nurburing cars. The Supra had the record on Nurburing for awhile. Supra won the first USC. And placed very high in the others and I think won another one. I guess it's a matter of opinion but my experiences have shown me other than what you say.

 

Don't forget Mitsubishi is in business to make money.

It is pointless to say you wish the interior was better.
I wish it was custom made to my specs for the same price.

Here is a web site of the friend of mine, who has a lot of racing experience and it doesn't do crack! His E36 M3 in 1996 in the Stock category weighted 3123 lb and that is basically the way the stock car is. With a few ore mods his car went down to 2930 when he moved to the Street Prepared class. Now he also has a LTW doors on his car, so the weight is down even more.

Unless you are talking about the luxury option on the E36 M3 with the sunroof and god knows what else, the weight is not 3400 lb, or I might not be the only one that is on crack as you said!
