Here are some pre made options that use dry cell batteries. I had the PC680 in my Galant VR4 and had no trouble with it.
Later, Kris

this is one of the cleanest battery install job i've seen in the trunk. it's not too fansy and it works.

How was drilling the trunk like? I'm afraid of tapping into the fuel pump accidently, that's the only thing.

Really nice job.Why not put it in a scca Battery Box ??
I haven't seen one yet to know if I want it I kinda like the bling bling look of the Optima battery, if I stuck with the stocker a full battery box with vents would definitely be installed. Post a link of how much they are, their dimensions and what they look like if you can.

The Buschur lightweight battery is great and a capacitor between the battery and your high powered amp would help keep the power spikes from dimming your lights as much. Starting the car in 10F or lower temps is what will bring a smaller lightweight battery to it's knees and unless it's brand new and fully charged you could be forced to jump start the car. Mainly the reserve time is much lower than a Red Top Optima battery and I already had it from my Galant VR-4 (which will hopefully be reborn in one of my friends hands).

This is one of the cleanest battery install job i've seen in the trunk. it's not too fancy and it works.

Thanks for the compliments! I figured I would make it look the best I could. As far as the fuel pump, that's located under the rear seats on the driver's side so if you drill into that you're a bit far forward. Our 14 gallon tank likely only occupies the area under the seats and shouldn't extend too far back or above the fuel pump access hatches to where I mounted the battery. Perhaps someone that's dropped the tank can post a picture to verify how far back it extends?

Great install!

I'm in the process of completing a similar mod and wanted to ask few questions:

- the ideal of adding a circuit breaker on the negative is ingenious, where did you install this and where can you buy one?

- is grounding the battery to the rear seat anchor sufficient? I noticed you removed the negative terminal from engine completely, left just the chasis ground.

thanks!
